3 Products Won Energy Grand Prize, 2 Products Won Energy Winner Award

LG Electronics has been recognized for its inverter technology that improves the energy efficiency of home appliances.

LG Electronics won three 'Energy Grand Prizes' and two 'Energy Winner Awards' at the 20th Annual Energy Winner Awards ceremony held at the Korea Press Foundation in Taepyeong-ro, Jung-gu. LG Electronics received the most Grand Prizes and the highest number of awards among all award-winning companies, with a total of five.

Three products, including the PuriCare Slim Up-Down water purifier, Whisen Dual Inverter dehumidifier, and Tromm dryer, received the 'Energy Grand Prize,' while two products, including the Dios refrigerator and the 'Multi V Super 5' system air conditioner, received the 'Energy Winner Award.'

The "Energy Winner of the Year Award" is organized by the non-profit organization Consumer Citizens' Movement, co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Energy Agency, and selects and awards technologies or products with outstanding energy efficiency.

All of the award-winning products are equipped with LG Electronics' unique, differentiated inverter technology. An inverter is a technology that regulates the operating speed of motors and compressors—key components that power home appliances—so that they operate only as much as necessary, thereby enhancing the performance and energy efficiency of appliances.

The direct-flow PuriCare Slim Up-Down water purifier is equipped with a high-efficiency inverter compressor and induction heating technology (IH). It cools the water only as much as is needed and quickly heats it to three customized temperatures of 40℃, 75℃, and 85℃, thereby reducing power consumption.

The Whisen dehumidifier, equipped with a dual inverter compressor, freely adjusts the compressor speed according to indoor humidity. It is 30% faster than a fixed-speed dehumidifier in the same class and reduces electricity consumption by 43.5%.

The Tromm dryer is an electric dryer that combines inverter technology with a heat pump system, which reuses heat generated by circulating refrigerant for drying. The electricity cost is only 135 won per cycle (based on Energy Mode) for a 5kg load, and unlike conventional heater methods, it dries using a low-temperature dehumidification method to reduce fabric damage.

Dios refrigerators are equipped with an 'Inverter Linear Compressor' that excels in high efficiency, high performance, and low noise, making them more than 30% more energy efficient compared to refrigerators using fixed-speed compressors.

Based on a proprietary high-efficiency scroll inverter compressor, the Multi V Super 5 system air conditioner is the world's first to be equipped with temperature and humidity sensors in the indoor and outdoor units, respectively, ensuring high energy efficiency while maintaining the most comfortable indoor environment.
