ATO-T, a domestically produced drone that rivals imported drones, will be released in August.

3S Solution, a developer of the weather observation industrial drone (ATO-I), announced that it will be launching the ATO-T, an unprecedented drone manufactured and produced in Korea based on its own R&D technology.

3S Solution, which has been planning and distributing various IT products for the past 13 years, established an R&D research center in 2008 and began developing HMD (Head Mounted Display) the following year, and has since developed highly sophisticated drones.

The Toy Drone "Atoti" is a toy drone that anyone aged 8 and above can easily and safely operate. Controlled via a smartphone app without a remote control, it might raise concerns about fine control. However, the drone emphasizes that it focuses on stability and ease of use, rather than high-speed flight and delicate controls.

Additionally, with a 2m altitude limit setting, it can be flown stably indoors as well as outdoors, making it a perfect drone for beginners. By applying ultrasonic sensors and optical flow sensors, which are only used in expensive drones, automatic hovering is possible, including maintaining altitude and flight position without separate control.

There are three flight modes available, including 'Touch Mode' where the user can directly control the flight, 'Motion Mode' that utilizes the gyro sensor (tilt) supported by the smartphone, and 'Voice Mode' that utilizes basic voice recognition, and even a Free Fall Mode that transitions from a stationary state to a flying state using free fall. Users can choose the control method according to their preference.

The safe drone ATO-T features a Fighter Mode. If a crash occurs due to pilot inexperience, the airframe module is designed to automatically stop, ensuring safety. Once you've become somewhat proficient at drone flying, you can activate Fighter Mode for even more fun.

Drone developer 3S Solution said, "If you look at cheap Chinese drones that are thrown away after a few flights, they are equipped with low-quality cameras to dazzle consumers. Frankly, it is impossible for beginners or children to operate a drone while looking at the camera. It is just an element that stimulates curiosity." They added, "The ATO-T that we developed is a safe drone that was developed with safety as the top priority. Anyone can easily fly a drone, and it is not a drone that breaks down and is thrown away after a few uses."

South Korea's largest drone enthusiast group, "Drone Play," is preparing for an August trial period, and sales have begun simultaneously through four major open markets.
