Axis Communications announced that the performance of Axis's video compression technology Zipstream has been improved to support 360-degree panoramic cameras and 4K cameras.

The AXIS M3047-P and AXIS M3048-P network cameras introduced by Axis feature enhanced Zipstream technology. As 'fisheye lens' mini dome cameras that provide a 360-degree view, they are cost-effective as they allow for monitoring a wide area with a small number of cameras.

It is smaller than existing products and blends well with the surrounding environment. Designed to be flat without a protruding dome cover surrounding the lens, it is less conspicuous and prevents dome reflections. Additionally, smoke detector-style cases, vandal-resistant cases, and black cases can be purchased separately and attached.

It supports a de-warping function that corrects image distortion in fisheye lenses, and can be executed on both the camera and client sides. Client-side de-warping can smoothly process live view or recorded video in 360-degree overview mode on AXIS Camera Station or other video management systems.

The AXIS M3047-P is a 6-megapixel camera, and the AXIS M3048-P is a 12-megapixel camera. Both products provide high-quality video with high clarity and light sensitivity at a full frame rate.
