Linear Technology Launches New OP-Amp LTC6360. 5V Single Supply, True Zero Drive SAR ADC
September 15, 2011 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak, www.linear.com ) announced the release of a low-noise, high-speed amplifier (Product Name: LTC6360) capable of operating at 0V while maintaining high linearity with a single +5V power supply. The LTC6360's integrated ultra-low noise charge pump features an internal negative rail, eliminating the need for a separate negative power supply. Existing
Compared to single-power amplifiers with rail-to-rail outputs capable of swinging hundreds of millivolts above GND, the LTC6360 is suitable for applications requiring a true 0V output swing and also provides improved linearity and dynamic range (DR).

The LTC6360 offers excellent precision and is ideal for driving 16- and 18-bit SAR ADCs (successive approximation register analog-to-digital converters). The input offset voltage does not exceed 250µV, and it provides excellent DR with low noise of 2.3nV/√Hz. It stabilizes at 16 bits within 150 nanoseconds and provides a -3dB closed-loop in the 250MHz band. Harmonic distortion (HD2/HD3) is -103dBc/-109dBc at fIN = 40kHz. The LTC6360 is unity-gain stable as it can be used as a buffer to minimize output noise. Although this product allows for higher load capacitance, the output is designed to drive a 10Ω resistor and a 330pF capacitor filter network.
The LTC6360 is available in MSOP and DFN 8-pin (3mm x 3mm) packages and operates over commercial (0°C to 70°C), industrial (-40°C to 85°C), and extended temperature (-40°C to 125°C) ranges. Pricing starts at $2.19 per unit for 1,000 units. For more information, visit www.linear.com/product/LTC6360 .
