LG Uplus is launching the 'Galaxy J3 (2017)', a budget smartphone in the 200,000 won range.

With a launch price of 275,000 won, the Galaxy J3 is expected to be popular among the elderly who find the cost of purchasing a smartphone burdensome, as well as parents with elementary school children.

If parents and children are both LG Uplus customers, they can receive a monthly discount of up to 22,000 won when combining family smartphones through 'U+ Family Unlimited Love,' even without internet access. An additional discount of up to 22,000 won per month is available based on the combined usage period of the family's smartphones, allowing for a maximum monthly discount of 44,000 won.

The Galaxy J3 has seen significant performance improvements compared to its predecessor, the 2016 model. Upgraded to the Exynos 7570 chipset and 2GB of RAM, it offers faster app launch speeds, while storage has doubled to 16GB, allowing for the storage of more videos and photos. Furthermore, the rear camera has been upgraded from 8 megapixels in the previous model to 13 megapixels. It was released in two colors: Black and Blue Silver.

For elementary school students and parents of elementary school children, three months of the 'Child Phone Guardian' service, priced at a monthly fee of 2,200 won (including VAT), will be provided free of charge to those who sign up by the 31st. Child Phone Guardian is a service that blocks access to harmful websites and the execution of harmful apps on a child's phone. By installing this app on the parent's phone, parents can control their child's app usage time and view usage history.
