Insec Security announced that it is operating a "Mobile Forensic Expert Training Course" in collaboration with Cellebrite, a global mobile forensic solution company, to extract and analyze data from mobile smart devices.

Cellebrite, a company specializing in the development of mobile forensic analysis solutions founded in Israel in 1999, has launched 'UFED,' a portable, high-performance mobile forensic solution. UFED enables companies to bypass security measures such as pattern locks and passwords on smart mobile devices using physical or logical methods when an internal information leak occurs, thereby securing data including stored media files, mobile messenger conversations, text message transmission and reception records, contacts, calendars, and location information. This can be used to identify where information has leaked within the company and to verify whether actions prohibited by internal policy have been committed.

Since signing a domestic distribution agreement with Cellebrite last year, Insec Security has been providing Cellebrite's mobile forensic solutions to potential customers in the public, large enterprise, telecommunications, and financial sectors in Korea, along with services such as technical support, practical training, and certification.

In addition to supplying Cellebrite products, Insec Security operates a Cellebrite certified training course to foster domestic mobile forensic experts. The Cellebrite Mobile Forensic Expert Training Course will be held as a five-day program from Monday, September 4 to Friday, September 8 at the Insec Security Authorized Training Center located in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu. This training course is expected to enable high-quality technical support and effective vulnerability assessments for customers and internal users by allowing them to acquire mobile data extraction and analysis skills.

The Cellebrite Mobile Forensic Expert Training Course is operated in two courses: the Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) certification practical training and the Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) certification practical training.

First, the main training content of Cellebrite’s Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) certification course includes: an overview of mobile device technology, mobile device trends, mobile device forensic investigation procedures, forensic technology and extraction methods of Cellebrite’s portable high-performance mobile forensic solution ‘UFED’, an overview of the UFED Logical Analyzer, reports, UFED readers, written exams, and practical exams.

The main educational content of Cellebrite’s Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) certification course includes: file systems and encoding; an overview of UFED technology; an overview of the UFED Physical Analyzer; advanced search techniques; evidence identification and verification; evidence report writing; plugin chain manager; and problems/issues in smart devices and mobile forensics.
