LG Electronics is equipping its next strategic premium smartphone, the 'LG V30', with a next-generation dual camera that is brighter and clearer by applying a glass lens and an aperture value of F1.6, which is the highest level among smartphones.

The standard lens of the LG V30's rear dual camera features a bright aperture of F1.6, the highest level among smartphone cameras to date. This is approximately 25% brighter than the F1.8 standard lens of the previous V20.

As the F-number of a camera lens decreases, the aperture opens wider to let in more light. Therefore, the LG V30's F1.6 camera can capture brighter and more vivid photos and videos than before.

In addition, the LG V30 features a bright aperture of F1.6 and adopts a glass material called the 'Crystal Clear Lens' for the first lens that directly receives light among the six lenses that make up the rear standard lens, in order to achieve optimal color and texture.

Glass lenses have a higher transmittance of visible light than conventional plastic lenses, allowing for clearer capture of subject details and enabling more accurate color and realistic texture expression, so they are mainly used in lenses for high-end cameras such as DSLRs.

The LG V30 has also further upgraded its rear wide-angle camera, which is highly useful for taking wide-angle landscape photos or group shots. The LG V30's low-distortion wide-angle camera applies proprietary lens design technology, significantly reducing edge distortion to one-third the level of its predecessor, the V20, enabling more realistic shooting.

Like its predecessor, it features a wide-angle camera on the front, which is an advantage as it allows you to take group photos without a selfie stick.

Meanwhile, the LG V30 features a high-quality dual camera with a 16-megapixel standard angle and a 13-megapixel wide angle, implemented in the smallest module with a size reduced by 30% compared to its predecessor. Although the size has been reduced, it is equipped with all the features that enable fast and stable shooting without shaking, including Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and Laser Auto Focus.
