ATEN Korea Launches Thunderbolt 2-Based Shared Switch Supporting 20Gbps Speeds

The ATEN US7220 is a shared switch based on the Thunderbolt 2 protocol that supports a transmission speed of 20Gbps. It is a product designed with both performance and design in mind, combining intuitive convenience.
It features a dual computer docking solution with perfect KVM functionality for a spacious workspace and allows you to directly share two computers via a single cable based on the Thunderbolt 2 protocol. With a simple switch operation, you can easily switch between the two computers not only with Thunderbolt 2-supported peripherals but also with USB-based peripherals such as keyboards, video players, and mice.
In general, when using USB 3.0, data is transferred at a maximum speed of 20Gbps in an ideal environment, transferring about 19GB of data in 30 seconds. In contrast, the ATEN US7220, based on the Thunderbolt 2 protocol, provides high data bandwidth capable of transferring 75GB of data. This is sufficient bandwidth to transmit 4K video files in a real-world environment while simultaneously watching a movie in 4K resolution.
Based on the Thunderbolt 2 protocol, the ATEN US7220 is a flexible and future-oriented solution that utilizes cutting-edge technology to meet the high-performance demands of the continuously rising digital media work environment.
It integrates powerful data transfer speeds, video output, and charging functions by providing fast access to digital media storage, high-speed file transfer, and simultaneous dual-view 4K video output, and can output two Thunderbolt interface computers to dual 4K displays. In addition, you can directly share up to 11 devices and peripherals, and daisy-chain up to 5 Thunderbolt devices to a single Thunderbolt port.
With such wide bandwidth and sharing capabilities, using multi-channel surround sound speakers connected to the US7220 via an optical Toslink cable delivers clearer and more natural sound, providing a seamless working environment for both video and audio editing.
It supports HDMI 1.4b, one Thunderbolt 2 input, two Thunderbolt 2 outputs (DisplayPort compatible), Gigabit RJ45, two USB 2.0 ports, three USB 3.1 ports, one eSATA port, and one digital audio input/output each, providing an environment for media-based AV/audio editing, multi-display work, and expanded connectivity for increased productivity.

ATEN Korea Hosts UI Icon Design Contest
ATEN Korea announced that it is holding a UI icon competition for the ATEN Control System. The second ATEN UI Design Icon Competition is an event aimed at building a more convenient user environment, and the winning entries selected from the submissions will be updated as official UI designs for ATEN products. Additionally, when the selected UI works align with the national sentiment of each country where ATEN operates, they will be applied broadly to products released in ATEN headquarters and other countries as well, serving the purpose of enhancing product value and improving operability. In particular, in 2017, in line with ATEN Korea's strategy aimed at advancing as a professional A/V specialist company, emphasis is being placed on securing creative UI designs that are effective in increasing accessibility to the control system application. The competition will run for a total of seven weeks from June 19 to July 31, and comprehensive evaluation of participation applications and submitted works will take place, with final results to be announced by the end of August.
