Lenovo Korea Holds 'Lenovo Legion Championship'
Published2017.08.28 16:25Lenovo Korea announced that the 'Lenovo Legion Championship - StarCraft Remastered' held at the Mokdong DPG Zone in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on the 26th was successfully concluded with the participation of approximately 280 regular people and 4 first-generation professional gamers.
Lenovo Korea has set up a separate Lenovo exhibition space within the on-site DPG zone for event participants to experience the upcoming Y920 Tower, Legion Y720, and Idea Center 720 firsthand, and has prepared various on-site events.
The tournament for the general public, which began at 10:00 AM, featured fierce competition starting with early preliminary matches. Prizes awarded to first through fourth place included the Lenovo Legion Y720 gaming laptop worth 2 million won, the Lenovo Legion Y520 gaming laptop worth 1.2 million won, the Lenovo IdeaCentre 720 laptop worth 1.1 million won, and the Yoga Book W LTE laptop worth 700,000 won, drawing attention.
Also, starting at 8 PM, a StarCraft Remastered match was held between four first-generation professional gamers, Park Jeong-seok, Park Tae-min, Lee Yun-yeol, and Lee Seong-eun, amidst great interest from the participants. Professional gamers displayed thrilling matches using Lenovo's high-performance gaming laptop, the Legion Y720, and the matches were also broadcast live through Afreeca TV, YouTube, and Facebook live streaming services.
Eugene Woo, who won first place in this Lenovo Legion Championship, said, “I participated in this Lenovo Legion Championship to reminisce about the past and have a special experience, and I had a great time playing the upgraded StarCraft Remastered game with many people. I am even happier to have won the unexpected championship and to receive the Lenovo Gaming Laptop Legion Y720 as a prize.” He also said, “It was impressive to be able to see the StarCraft Remastered match between the first-generation professional gamers, and I think I made unforgettable memories.”
