Deployable regardless of desktop application type

VMware announced updates to its digital workspace solution for effective endpoint management in enterprises at VMworld 2017 in Las Vegas, USA.

This announcement includes Workspace ONE, which integrates with AirWatch, a unified endpoint management (UEM) solution, and Horizon Cloud, a cloud service for deploying and managing virtual desktops and applications. First unveiled in the first half of 2016, Workspace ONE is the industry's first digital workspace platform to deliver consistent user experiences, operations, management, and security regardless of the specific mobile device.

Workspace ONE offers self-service capabilities, allowing users to quickly deploy the desktops and applications they need, regardless of the type of mobile device. It also maintains enhanced security, enabling businesses to operate and manage their work environment more securely. This service model is now available for both Windows 10 and macOS with this update.

Another key feature of Workspace ONE is its ability to remotely deploy large-scale applications using cloud-based P2P software technology. This effectively reduces infrastructure costs incurred in remote work environments. Furthermore, Workspace ONE is the industry's first solution to support iOS, Android, Windows 10, macOS, and Chrome OS, and through close collaboration with Google, it offers new management capabilities for Chrome-based mobile devices. HP also announced plans to support Workspace ONE on its Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform through a partnership with VMware, which was announced at VMworld this year.

We've unveiled "Workspace ONE Intelligence," a new feature available for Workspace ONE. Workspace ONE Intelligence provides comprehensive information on corporate application deployment and usage, device security status, and user service experiences. Furthermore, the new feature's built-in rules engine can be used to maintain optimal security and performance for your digital workspace in real time.
