Announcement of GAW337 and GAW338 series, providing design flexibility
Provides high level of waterproof performance for up to 1 hour at a maximum depth of 2m

Gore, a materials science company, has launched the GORE Acoustic Vent GAW337 and GAW338 series, new products that deliver overwhelming acoustic performance in an ultra-small size.

Gore is a global leader in venting technology, supplying billions of 'GORE Portable Electronic Vent' products to leading companies around the world.


This series delivers higher and more consistent acoustic performance than existing products (GAW333 and GAW334 series), while providing waterproof performance (IP68) that lasts up to 2m for 1 hour at a maximum depth of 2m. In addition, the ultra-small vent size of 1.0mm provides excellent design flexibility for the increasingly slim mobile product design, and it is released in two colors: white (GAW337) and black (GAW338), taking into account the aesthetic elements of the device.

The recent mobile market is demanding innovative venting technologies that maintain excellent acoustic performance along with high waterproof performance due to continuous advancements in mobile phone and wearable technology. The new GORE® Acoustic Vent, which boasts an ultra-compact size and excellent acoustic performance, is a product that meets the needs of the mobile market.

These products, when measured using a MEMS microphone system, have significantly reduced acoustic loss for the GAW337 compared to our existing product (GAW333) with an inner diameter of 1.0 mm, and the GAW338 compared to our existing product (GAW334) has significantly reduced acoustic loss. Terry Dai said, “When developing the new acoustic vent, we focused on reducing the product size while improving acoustic performance with the 100% ePTFE GORE membrane, taking into account the increasingly slimmer mobile and wearable trends.”

GORE® Acoustic Vents are also available in standard and custom sizes with two color options: white hydrophobic and black oleophobic membranes. They feature a durable acrylic adhesive that provides a durable waterproof bond and excellent temperature resistance from -20°C to +85°C. They are also waterproof to a depth of 2 m for up to 1 hour.
