Dell EMC unveils integrated portfolio combined with VMware

Dell EMC is strengthening its integrated portfolio and services supporting VMware. Based on close collaboration with VMware, Dell EMC is introducing a new portfolio including hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), data protection solutions, and Ready Nodes to support IT innovation for VMware customers.
Dell EMC announced more powerful solutions and services for VMware customers at 'VMworld 2017' held in Las Vegas, USA on August 27-28 (local time).
Dell EMC expands its portfolio through joint strategy and engineering with VMware, enabling customers to reduce time and costs required for IT services and increase efficiency, ultimately supporting customers in realizing digital transformation.

The latest software 'VxRail 4.5' will be installed on Dell EMC's 'VxRail', a turnkey HCI solution optimized for VMware. VxRail, jointly developed by Dell EMC and VMware, is the industry's only hyperconverged infrastructure with built-in 'vSAN', a storage virtualization solution. VxRail equipped with the new software is based on the latest versions including VMware's server virtualization solution 'vSphere 6.5' and storage virtualization solution 'vSAN 6.6', providing simplified automation and lifecycle management technology. The new 'batch multi-node scaling' provides superior scalability, and management capabilities are enhanced with REST-based APIs for remote virtual machine (VM) management. Additionally, it offers various security options including 'vSAN encryption', the industry's first native HCI security solution.
Furthermore, 'VxRack', the industry's first rack-scale hyperconverged infrastructure solution, has improved capacity efficiency by 80% based on the latest technology including VMware's enterprise-grade software-defined datacenter (SDDC) service 'VMware Cloud Foundation'.
In addition, Dell EMC's 'VMware Ready Systems' and 'vSAN Ready Nodes' equipped with 14th generation PowerEdge servers are also unveiled. The new VMware Ready Systems are validated cloud offerings that combine Dell EMC's hyperconverged infrastructure options with VMware's cloud software, applicable regardless of scale.

Dell EMC Provides Integrated Virtualization Solution Based on PowerEdge
Dell EMC is launching VxRail, a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solution that combines PowerEdge servers, the number one selling x86 servers in the global market. The newly introduced VxRail provides integrated services encompassing storage, servers, and virtualization solutions regardless of company size. Based on the new PowerEdge-based VxRail, Dell EMC anticipates securing more diverse modern data center deployment cases in the domestic market. The newly unveiled VxRail from Dell EMC is integrated with PowerEdge servers and delivers 40% higher CPU performance at the same price point, while also improving flexibility and scalability through various configurations. The capacity of all-flash nodes has doubled, and with the addition of a reasonably priced entry-level lineup, the minimum implementation cost has been reduced by 25%.

VMware Announces Digital Workspace Updates for Unified Endpoint Management
VMware announced updates to its digital workspace solution for effective endpoint management at VMworld 2017 held in Las Vegas, United States. The announcement includes Workspace ONE, which integrates the unified endpoint management (UEM) solution AirWatch, and Horizon Cloud, a cloud service for the deployment and management of virtual desktops and applications. Workspace ONE, first unveiled in the first half of 2016, is the industry's first digital workspace platform that delivers consistent user experience, operations, management, and security regardless of specific mobile devices. Workspace ONE provides self-service capabilities. In other words, users can rapidly deploy desktops or applications they need regardless of the type of mobile device. Additionally, it maintains enhanced security levels, enabling enterprises to operate and manage their work environments more safely. The corresponding service model is equally applied to Windows 10 and macOS through this update.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. The plan is to consistently manage access permissions in an environment where AI agents are increasing as work execution entities, while applying the principle of least privilege and automated policy enforcement. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
