February 14, 2012 – Analog Devices ( www.analog.com ), a market leader in data converters, today introduced a new 11-bit D/A converter that enables cable TV and broadband operators to synthesize the entire cable spectrum up to 1 GHz onto a single RF port while consuming up to 1.1 W of power. The wide bandwidth and dynamic range of the AD9737A 2.5 GSPS D/A converter allow cable infrastructure designers to increase Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) channel density 20-fold in current cable modem implementations, thereby enhancing next-generation services such as interactive TV, HD broadcasting, and new specialized channels.
