Garmin has launched the 'Approach S60,' a smart golf watch that displays all the information needed for a round of golf right on the wrist and features various game recording and analysis functions.

Based on Garmin's powerful GPS performance, the Garmin Approach S60 not only provides distance information with minimal error but also facilitates strategic game management through its Fairway View and Green View features. The built-in PlaysLike feature offers corrected distances that account for uphill and downhill slopes, allowing for optimal club selection depending on the situation, while the Green View feature enables users to specify the pin location via drag-and-drop, providing more precise distance information.

The fairway view information, provided along with distance data, not only allows you to grasp the entire course but also provides the distance to any selected point, enabling strategic game management. Furthermore, since it automatically detects when a shot is executed and measures the distance, you can also accurately know the distance for each club.

Garmin’s newly introduced Approach S60 features a 1.2-inch color touchscreen with excellent readability even in sunlight, making it convenient to use on the field. Through synchronization with the Garmin Connect app, it allows users to record scores as well as detailed round information such as fairway hit rate and green hit rate (GIR), and analyze and manage accumulated records.

With maps of over 41,000 golf courses worldwide built-in, it can be used more conveniently for rounds both domestically and abroad, and provides convenience to users by automatically updating information on frequently played courses whenever it syncs with the Garmin Connect app.

The built-in SwingTempo function measures the time of the backswing and downswing to check if the swing speed is appropriate, and also supports the TempoTraining function, which indicates the optimal timing with vibrations according to the tempo set by the user. When used with TruSwing, a swing analyzer, precise analysis information such as swing speed, swing trajectory, club entry angle, and face condition at impact can also be obtained.

The free downloadable Garmin Golf app allows users to compete against other players on leaderboards on Garmin-supported courses and check information such as rankings, scores, and handicaps, providing a more enjoyable golf experience.

The Approach S60 is available in a premium model featuring a ceramic bezel and a leather band, as well as black and white models with a polymer bezel and a silicone band. It boasts a long battery life of up to 10 hours in golf mode and up to 10 days in smartwatch mode, allowing it to easily handle a 36-hole round in a day. It is also water-resistant up to 5 ATM (50 meters).

In addition to golf, it comes standard with various smartwatch functions such as running, cycling, swimming, calorie burning, step counting, and sleep pattern analysis. You can check various notifications, including incoming calls, text messages, and emails, directly on the watch screen.

Meanwhile, Garmin will serve as the official sponsor of the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour 'Shinhan Donghae Open,' which will be held at Bears Best Golf Course in Incheon starting on the 14th. Along with a sales booth for the Approach S60 at the Gallery Plaza, the company plans to operate a booth where visitors can experience Garmin's TrueSwing™ products firsthand and will also hold various raffle events.
