NX software, a CAD solution, adopted as the design development system

Yamaha Motor announced that it has selected Siemens PLM Software's PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software to drive its digitalization.

Yamaha Motor Company plans to introduce Siemens PLM Software’s Teamcenter portfolio, the world’s most widely used digital lifecycle management software, into all development departments of its core business, motorcycle products.

In addition, Yamaha has adopted Siemens' integrated CAD/CAM/CAE solution, NX software, as its design development system. By introducing NX and the Teamcenter platform, Yamaha has been able to further strengthen its digital design process and establish an efficient and direct collaboration environment between product development designers and engineers.

Makoto Shimamoto, Senior Executive Officer and General Manager of Yamaha Motor's PF Model Business Unit, stated, “Improving the motorcycle development process, our core product area, through Siemens is of great significance to Yamaha Motor. Yamaha Motor is introducing NX and Teamcenter into all motorcycle development processes worldwide. Through this, the company plans to establish a fully integrated 3D product development process and build an efficient integrated management environment for 3D master data.

NX software is used for digital design and engineering analysis, supporting designers to work and collaborate more efficiently, and enabling shorter time-to-market and accelerated innovation cycles. Additionally, Teamcenter plays a role in digitally weaving the entire product development process, allowing all global work teams to work with the most up-to-date single product data source.

Yamaha Motor was able to begin a large-scale implementation in a very short period of time based on Advantedge, a best practice set from Siemens PLM Software.
