KT and Daim Polar Special Vehicle Commercialize NB-IoT Gas Remote Monitoring Service

KT and Daim Polar Special Vehicle announced that they will commercialize the NB-IoT based 'LP gas remote meter reading service' from the end of September.
The 'LP gas remote meter reading service' applies KT's NB-IoT to Daim Polar Special Vehicle's LP gas remote meter reading integrated management system called 'Tong Sori,' and is the first service to introduce NB-IoT in both the B2B market and the gas meter reading industry.
The two companies have been promoting service development since signing a 'memorandum of understanding for joint development of NB-IoT-based gas remote meter reading service' in April. After KT completed its nationwide NB-IoT network construction in July, pilot service has been completed, leaving only commercialization of the service.
With the application of NB-IoT, Daim Polar Special Vehicle can remotely meter and manage the remaining gas in small LP gas storage tanks scattered throughout the country at a lower cost. Additionally, based on gas remaining information, bulk lorries (high-pressure gas transport vehicles) supplying LP gas can now be deployed quickly and accurately.
An official at Daim Polar Special Vehicle stated, "Through the 'Tong Sori' service applying NB-IoT, LP gas companies are expected to manage their LP gas supply chain more efficiently and conveniently."
Kim Joon-geun, head of KT's GiGA IoT Business Division, said, "This commercialization of NB-IoT based LP gas remote meter reading is an opportunity to demonstrate the applicability of NB-IoT in the remote meter reading field," and added, "We will continue to introduce NB-IoT commercial services through cooperation with specialized businesses in various sectors."
Meanwhile, Daim Polar Special Vehicle's 'Tong Sori' system consists of three remote meter reading services: 'Tong Sori T' which checks remaining gas information in small storage tanks that is basic data for bulk lorry operations, 'Tong Sori D' which checks flow meter information and operational information of bulk lorries, and 'Tong Sori M' which checks usage of gas meters. Each service is composed of a terminal, operation program, and smartphone application.

KT installs 5G network in Daegwallyeong Tunnel on Yeongdong Expressway
