NVIDIA announced that leading Chinese technology companies are adopting the new NVIDIA Volta GPU computing platform to accelerate artificial intelligence for a wide range of enterprise and consumer applications.
At the GPU Technology Conference in Beijing, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced that Alibaba Cloud, Baidu, and Tencent are integrating NVIDIA Tesla® V100 GPU accelerators into their data centers and cloud service infrastructure.
Alibaba Cloud, Baidu, and Tencent are undergoing large-scale data center upgrades, transitioning from existing NVIDIA Pascal architecture-based systems to Volta-based platforms, which offer unparalleled speed and scalability for AI inference and training.
The heart of the new Volta-based system is the NVIDIA V100 data center GPU. Comprised of 21 billion transistors, the NVIDIA V100 data center GPU delivers a fivefold performance increase over the previous NVIDIA Pascal-architecture P100 GPU accelerator and the deep learning performance of 100 CPUs. This is more than four times the performance improvement expected by Moore's Law over the same period.
NVIDIA also announced that major Chinese OEMs, including Inspur, Lenovo, and Huawei, will leverage the NVIDIA HGX reference architecture to deliver Volta-based acceleration systems for hyperscale data centers.
Dowson Tong, Tencent Senior Vice President and President of Social Network Group, said, “Tencent is actively leveraging AI across our products, from improving user experiences with voice recognition in WeChat, augmented reality in QQ and Qzone, to providing data intelligence services in Tencent Cloud. Volta GPUs will give Tencent developers unprecedented computing power to enhance their services. We also look forward to providing Volta computing power to a wider range of businesses through Tencent Cloud.”

NVIDIA Provides NVIDIA DGX Systems to General Hospital Research Lab
엔비디아가 엔비디아 볼타(NVIDIA Volta) 아키텍처 기반 세계 최초의 인공지능 슈퍼컴퓨터인 엔비디아 DGX 시스템을 미국 매사추세츠 종합병원 연구소인 임상 데이터 사이언스 센터(Center for Clinical Data Science)에 제공했다고 발표했다. 이번에 제공된 볼타 아키텍처 기반의 새로운 DGX-1은 기존 세대 DGX 대비 3배 빠른 획기적인 인공지능 컴퓨팅 성능을 제공하며, 단일 시스템에서 최대 800개의 CPU 성능을 제공한다. 새로운 엔비디아 DGX 스테이션(NVIDIA DGX Station)은 인공지능 개발을 위한 세계 최초의 개인용 슈퍼컴퓨터로, CPU 400개의 연산 능력을 지녔지만 전력 소비는 40배 가량 적으며 책상 한 켠에 들어가기 좋은 크기의 폼팩터다.

NVIDIA is applying AI to industries that use data analytics.
엔비디아가 GE 벤처스의 ‘아비타스 시스템즈(Avitas Systems)’와의 협력을 발표했다. 본 협력을 통해 양사는 첨단 데이터 분석을 사용하는 산업 장비 결함 탐지 및 점검 로봇에 최신 인공지능 컴퓨팅 기술을 적용할 계획이다. 아비타스 시스템즈는 특정 지점을 검사 대상으로 지정할 수 있으며, 드론, 크롤러 로봇, 자율무인잠수정(AUV) 등 다양한 로보틱스에 적용되는 이미지 및 동영상 데이터 수집 경로도 개발할 수 있다. 3D 모델링으로 구동되는 이러한 경로는 동일한 각도 및 위치에서 반복 가능하다. 이러한 반복성에 기반해 시간의 추이에 따라 캡처된 넓은 범위의 다양한 이미지들은 아비타스 시스템즈 클라우드 기반 플랫폼에 입력되며, 입력된 이미지들을 기반으로 균열이나 부식과 같은 산업용 장비의 정밀한 결함이 측정되는 첨단 이미지 분석이 진행된다.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. The plan is to consistently manage access permissions in an environment where AI agents are increasing as work execution entities, while applying the principle of least privilege and automated policy enforcement. The two companies plan to jointly expand capabilities to manage the identities of various entities, including AI agents, within a single layer in the AWS environment. This collaboration is interpreted as a move to design security and governance together in corporate environments where AI adoption is expanding.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
