Telit Launches Bluetooth 4.2 Interface Module with Built-in Chip Antenna
Published2017.10.12 11:12Telit announced the release of the Bluetooth 4.2 host controller interface module 'BL871E2-HI'.
The BL871E2-HI is a dual-mode Bluetooth module with an integrated chip antenna that supports audio functions. It enables secure Bluetooth functionality through the processing power of the host application processor and an external Bluetooth stack, making end-device design efficient and simple. Furthermore, it incorporates all hardware functions to reduce development costs and Bill of Materials (BoM) and accelerate time-to-market.
The BL871E2-HI module accelerates device development in various industrial and consumer applications and provides an efficient solution for time-constrained projects. It is available in a 9.7x10.1mm, 18-pad LCC (Leadless Chip Carrier) package and supports BR (Basic Rate)/EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and Low Power (LE) connectivity. It is suitable for scanners and printers, mPOS (mobile point of sales), mobile healthcare (m-healthcare), industrial gateway applications, or electronic industry devices equipped with audio capabilities.
It has received SRCC (Radio Transmission Equipment Type Approval – China), RED (Radio Equipment Directive Compliance – Europe), and FCC (Federal Communication Commission Type Approval – USA) certifications and is suitable as a Bluetooth 4.2 controller subsystem.
Sandro Spanghero, Vice President of Global Product Management at Telit, said, “There is a growing number of device manufacturers updating their products or attempting new changes using Bluetooth connectivity technology. The BL871E2 is the product that meets these requirements. As a small and affordable RF front-end module, it connects to the processor designed into the host device and supports up to seven simultaneous connections.”
The BL871E2-HI is a hardware-only product that provides Bluetooth functionality to a host device without the need for additional external components. To ensure cost flexibility, it does not include a Bluetooth stack. Telit's Blue Code +SR protocol stack or a customer-provided stack must be configured to run in the host processing environment.

Telit Receives Nationwide Certification for IoT Modules Supporting LTE Cat M1
Telit announced that its IoT module 'ME910C1-NA' supporting LTE Cat M1 (LTE-M) technology has received certification for AT&T's LTE-M nationwide network, the largest telecommunications carrier in the United States. The module is designed with Telit's xE910 form factor and supports tri-band, single mode. IoT solution integrators and suppliers can now immediately provide IoT solutions using Telit xE910 form factor modules on AT&T's LTE-M network, which offers reliable and superior coverage. Yosi Fait, interim CEO of Telit, stated, "Existing customers using Telit's 2G and 3G xE910 form factor modules need AT&T certification to migrate to the new ME910C1-NA. Telit supports all stages of the certification process to help customers launch LTE-M products within just a few weeks. New customers can also achieve rapid product launches through support from our customer support centers and sales representatives across the United States."

Telit Supports LTE Cat9 in Vaio Laptops
Telit announced that it will be the sole supplier of its mobile data card LN940, which supports LTE Cat 9, to VAIO's new S series, a Japanese notebook manufacturer and vendor, and will support stable LTE-Advanced connectivity technology. VAIO will launch laptops and notebooks equipped with the Telit LN940 that support Cat 9 ultra-high-speed wireless internet of 450 Mbps for the first time in the industry. The VAIO S series (S11 and S13) equipped with the Telit LN940, which has completed certification on major Japanese carrier networks, will be marketed in Japan from the end of September 2017. International sales and other certifications are scheduled to take place in 2018.
