Dassault Systèmes Korea held a press conference with SolidWorks Global CEO Gian Paolo Bassi at the ACCOR Hotel in Dragon City, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and unveiled the latest version of its 3D design and engineering solution, 'SolidWorks 2018'.

SOLIDWORKS 2018 is an integrated end-to-end solution covering all stages from design to production, providing a new approach to parts and products regardless of company size and supporting the faster commercialization of innovative ideas.

SOLIDWORKS 2018, released by Dassault Systèmes, an industry leader in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, supports perfect corporate design by utilizing solutions that streamline the interaction between each work area within the product development workflow. Furthermore, the integrated process interconnects relevant departments and serves as the foundational environment for smart manufacturing through seamless data flow shared anytime, anywhere. In summary, the entire design process can be carried out within the solutions provided by SOLIDWORKS.

SolidWorks, a leader in innovation, achieved another breakthrough in the 2018 version by supporting "Touch Mode," which can be utilized in the design and design review processes. When sketching with a finger or a dedicated pen on a touch-enabled device, the sketch is immediately converted into a sketch entity within SolidWorks for feature operations. In situations requiring numerical input, users can conveniently input data using a dedicated touch input window. Furthermore, users can rotate designed data or zoom in and out using their fingers. In addition, assembly and disassembly based on mates are also possible, making it possible to review designs more intuitively and vividly anytime, anywhere, even while on the go.

In addition, each department can automatically design and program custom parts in just a few seconds by implementing a 'Build to Order' strategy.
