Samsung Electronics Launches 'Gear Sport' and 'Gear IconX (2018)'
Published2017.10.26 09:29Samsung Electronics will launch the 'Gear Sport' and 'Gear IconX (2018)', smart wearable devices optimized for various daily lives, in Korea on the 27th.
The 'Gear Sport' smartwatch is certified with a 5ATM water resistance rating according to the ISO 22810:2010 standard, making it suitable for leisure activities such as swimming, playing in the water, showering, and washing cars, as well as for everyday use. Setting 'Water Lock Mode' also prevents touches caused by water currents.
'Gear Sport' enables systematic, personalized health management by utilizing 'Samsung Health's' 'Fitness Programs'.
If you input the calories you consumed into 'Gear Sport,' it compares them with the calories burned through exercise to provide a calorie balance, and recognizes exercises such as walking and running to record information such as exercise time and calorie expenditure. You can also measure heart rate in real time.
Samsung Electronics is introducing 20 types of 'Gear Sport' straps certified by the 'Samsung Mobile Accessory Partnership Program (SMAPP)' along with three types of genuine straps.
In addition, the Gear Sport offers convenient features by integrating with Samsung products. It can be connected to a laptop via Bluetooth to be used as a PowerPoint controller or a controller for the Gear VR virtual reality device, and it can also control IoT-enabled Samsung smart home appliances through the Samsung Connect application.
The second-generation wireless earphones Gear IconX (2018) are characterized by having no connecting wire between the left and right earbuds.
The Gear IconX (2018) provides real-time voice coaching when running or walking without a smartphone and can record exercise time, distance, and volume.
It is equipped with a battery that allows for up to 7 hours of music playback when used independently, and up to 5 hours when connected to a smartphone.
