LG Uplus and Born2Global Center Host Startup Demo Day

LG Uplus announced on the 26th that it held the 'LG Uplus-Born2Global Center Startup Demo Day' on the 25th at its Yongsan headquarters in Seoul, attended by about 100 people, including representatives of the six startups finally selected from among the K-ICT Born2Global Center member companies and executives and employees from LG Uplus's new business-related departments.
This event, jointly organized by LG Uplus and Born2Global Center, a specialized agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT that supports the global expansion of promising technology companies, was prepared to discover information and communication technologies for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution through mutually beneficial cooperation between large corporations and startups.
LG Uplus finally selected a total of six startups after screening member companies being nurtured by the Born2Global Center. Various new technologies aligned with the trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as IoT, AI, and AR, have become mainstream.
The startups finally selected to secure business development opportunities with LG Uplus are ▲Corners (CEO Kim Dong-o, real-time disaster and counter-terrorism response system based on IoT and AI convergence) ▲PiQuant (CEO Pi Do-yeon, spectroscopic detector for finding pesticides and food poisoning bacteria in food ingredients and harmful substances in infant formula) ▲GSIL (CEO Lee Jung-woo, IoT-based smart construction safety management system) ▲Seers Lab (CEO Jung Jin-wook, real-time beauty and AR sticker camera app) ▲IO Aurora (CEO Jang Young-soo, unmanned ticketing machine service equipped with camera and AR-based software) ▲Haebora (CEO Shin Du-sik, input device for AI voice command assistant services).
At the Demo Day held on this day, six startups presented the strengths of their respective services to employees of LG Uplus's new business-related departments. LG Uplus plans to discuss future cooperation plans and follow-up investments, and intends to grow together with the startups by continuing to support business development and mentoring programs through the hosting of Startup Demo Days.
Kim Yong-hwan, Senior Vice President of Partnership Promotion at LG Uplus, stated, “We plan to consistently support promising ICT startups to discover various innovative cases that benefit both companies and startups,” adding, “Collaboration with domestic companies through this Demo Day will also help lay the groundwork for startups to expand into overseas markets.”

금융 소외? 대안평가로 해결해볼게! 금용거래정보 위주의 신용평가는 금융 소외를 일으킨다. 위험한 사람과 ‘위험할 것 같은 부류와 묶여있는 사람’을 거절의 대상으로 여긴다. 크레파스(crePASS)는 머신러닝과 알고리즘을 적용해 금융사에 새로운 방식의 리스크 평가 시스템을 제시했다. 크레파스의 김민정 대표는 ‘고객의 디지털 행동을 분석해 중금리의 추가 금융 기회 제공’을 미션으로 대안평가 플랫폼 이용 방안을 개발했다고 밝혔다. 사회 초년생이 대출 신청을 할 경우 기존에는 학자금 대출 여부, 주택담보대출, 신용카드 사용 내역 등이 평가 요인이 됐으나 크레파스의 대안평가는 이동 통신 요금을 밀리지 않고 냈다는 점이 신용평가 등급으로 적용될 수 있다. 관계자는 “이러한 사용자의 행동 패턴 데이터 분석으로 대출을 해준 경우 실제 상환율도 뛰어났다”고 전했다.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
