Mars Industry and Smart Home Platform Construction Agreement, Outdoor IoT Air Quality Meter and Home IoT Platform Construction
Easily identify ventilation timing by linking with air purifier and indoor IoT air quality alarm

LG Uplus has signed a business agreement with Hwaseong Industry to build a home IoT platform and will install outdoor IoT air quality measuring devices in 1,047 households of Hwaseong Park Dream Apartments in Unjeong District, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The IoT air quality meter is equipped with a total of five sensors and a communication module that detect fine dust, ultrafine dust, temperature, humidity, noise, and hazardous substances. The measured values are transmitted to the LG U+ IoT platform server and can be checked in real time on the customer's smartphone application 'IoT@home' and PC.

Residents can accurately check the air quality around their apartment complex in real time through IoT air quality meters. In addition, when linking the ventilation system with the basic air purification function provided for each household with the individually purchased IoT air purifier and indoor IoT air quality alarm, they can use total air quality care services such as notifications of ventilation timing and non-ventilation, automatic operation of air purifiers, etc. through comparison of the air conditions inside/outside the household.

Along with the outdoor air quality measuring device, LG U+ is implementing a smart home environment by building a home IoT platform within each unit of the Hwaseong Park Dream apartment.

The home IoT platform built within the apartment unit is an integrated system that allows residents to use the existing home network and LG U+'s home IoT service as a single application, allowing residents to control the lighting, cooling, and other equipment installed upon moving in through a smartphone app.;It will be possible to comprehensively control not only existing built-in systems such as heating and gas, but also individually purchased IoT home appliances from LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, etc.

LG U+'s IoT-only app 'IoT@home' not only provides integrated control, but also analyzes the usage patterns of linked IoT home appliances to recommend various device control scenarios to users, such as commuting, weekends, and travel, thereby guiding optimized home appliance use according to the situation and automatically executing device operations when going out and returning home based on smartphone location information, providing convenience.

Meanwhile, the model house of the Paju Unjeong Hwaseong Park Dream apartment, where LG U+'s cutting-edge IoT technology is applied, will open in Yadang-dong, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do from the 27th (Friday), where general customers can directly experience the service.

LG Uplus IoT Partnership Director Ryu Chang-soo said, “As apartment residents’ interest in urban air pollution due to fine dust has recently increased, we are installing outdoor IoT air quality meters in new apartment complexes being built by Hwaseong Industry, Hoban Construction, and Doosan Construction to provide more accurate atmospheric environment information.” He added, “We will supply home IoT platforms and air quality meters to more apartment complexes in the future to increase convenience for residents.”
