Telit's LTE Category 1 Module Supports AT&T's LTE Nationwide Network Standard
Published2017.11.01 10:46Telit announced that its LTE Category 1 modules LE910B1-NA and LE910B1-SA and LTE Category 4 module LE910B4-NA support the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) standard on AT&T's nationwide LTE network, a leading U.S. mobile carrier.
Additionally, certification of the LM940, a PCI Express Mini (mPCIe) data card supporting LTE Category 11 technology, has been completed. This single SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) product, supporting 600 Mbps, targets network routers and gateways, as well as the mobile computing industry.
This certification enables IoT integrators and suppliers to immediately integrate and test devices with certified modules and data cards, and leverage AT&T's reliable LTE Category 1, Category 4-VoLTE, and Category 11 services for their IoT solutions.
Yosi Fait, CEO of Telit, said: “VoLTE is essential for IoT, especially in the US market where carriers are abandoning inefficient circuit-switched voice calls. Customers who are currently using 2G, 3G and non-VoLTE LTE modules within the Telit xE910 family can now easily drop-in to a VoLTE version, undergo the necessary testing with Telit support and deliver voice-enabled, long-life products.” “The certified LM940 data card is the only global product for the router and gateway market that provides OEMs with immediate access to 3x carrier aggregation technology available on the AT&T network,” he said.
The LE910B1/4-xA modules are part of Telit's best-selling xE910 family and are a pin-to-pin replacement for existing devices using modules within the family for 2G, 3G, LTE categories 1, 3, and 4. The xE910 LGA common form factor allows developers to design once and deploy anywhere, reducing development costs and time by simply selecting the technology best suited to their application environment.
The Telit LM940 offers excellent power efficiency and is an ideal solution for commercial and enterprise router applications, including branch-to-branch connectivity, LTE failover, digital signage, kiosks, pop-up stores, vehicle routers, and construction sites. It supports Linux and Windows drivers.

Telit Launches Bluetooth 4.2 Interface Module with Built-in Chip Antenna
Telit announced the launch of 'BL871E2-HI', a Bluetooth 4.2 host controller interface module. The BL871E2-HI is a dual-mode Bluetooth module with an embedded chip antenna that supports audio functionality. Through the processing capability of the host application processor and an external Bluetooth stack, it supports robust Bluetooth features, making end-device design efficient and simple. Additionally, it incorporates all hardware functions to reduce development costs and bill of materials (BoM), and accelerate time-to-market. The BL871E2-HI module, which accelerates device development speed across various industrial and consumer application fields, provides an efficient solution for projects with tight development schedules. It is offered in a Leadless Chip Carrier (LCC) package with 18 pads in a 9.7x10.1mm form factor, and supports BR (Basic Rate)/EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and low energy (LE) connectivity. It is suitable for scanners and printers, mPOS (mobile point of sales), mobile healthcare (m-healthcare), industrial gateway applications, and electronic industry devices equipped with audio functionality.

European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. The presence of major domestic cities such as Seoul, Suwon, and Yongin was also confirmed. It was also revealed that Korea's European patent strategy is expanding beyond individual technologies to span the entire industry.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK텔레콤이 3월 21일 서울 광화문 일대에서 열린 대형 K-팝 공연에 AI 기반 네트워크 운영 시스템을 처음 적용해 통신 품질을 관리했다고 밝혔다. 공연 전후 3시간 동안 모바일 데이터 사용량은 12.15TB로 직전 주말 같은 시간대보다 약 2배 늘었다. SK텔레콤은 AI 시스템 ‘A-One’을 활용해 5분 단위, 50m 단위로 트래픽을 감시하며 과부하 가능성에 대응했고, 임시 통신 시설과 현장 인력 운영도 병행했다. 밀집 행사와 외국인 이용 수요가 동시에 늘어나는 환경에서 AI 기반 자율 네트워크 운영의 현장 적용 가능성을 확인한 사례로 해석된다.
