XCMG's Intelligent Manufacturing Capabilities, Production Time Improved by 83%
Published2017.11.14 09:14Global construction equipment manufacturer XCMG announced that thanks to its latest achievements in intelligent manufacturing, production efficiency at its subsidiary XCMG Hydraulics increased by 32.5%, and energy consumption during production decreased by 22.2%.
Zhang Qingshan, director of XCMG Hydraulics' product process research institute, stated, "Our company currently operates 600 units of IM equipment across 12 assembly lines, including warehousing and logistics tools as well as hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic valves."
He noted that 90% of XCMG's core processes are completed through numerical control systems. Through numerical control systems, XCMG achieved a 34.3% reduction in operating costs, a 42.3% reduction in R&D cycles, shortened order production cycles from 6 months to 1 month, and reduced product defect rates by 33.3%.
Additionally, XCMG unveiled a next-generation in-house developed MES cloud management system at CIIF. Based on this system, XCMG adopted horizontal integration of the supply chain and operational procedures, as well as vertical integration of workstations and equipment.
Beyond its core competencies in designing and manufacturing world-class heavy equipment, XCMG adhered to standards of "advanced technology and durability" while accelerating the development of a customized cloud platform.
In 2016, XCMG unveiled XCMG-Cloud, a groundbreaking and highly inclusive industrial cloud platform based on its own independent data and information systems.
Carried out jointly with Alibaba's Aliyun, this project integrated the internet, cloud computing, and manufacturing into a single hub.
Furthermore, XCMG developed intelligent workshops and Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, establishing its leading position amid the current wave of industrial transformation.
XCMG Chairman Wang Min stated, "The manufacturing industry is undergoing significant changes," and "the manufacturing sector must adapt to new construction trends. IM provides our company with new opportunities that benefit us in the internet age."

Samsung Electronics Establishes Domestic Production of EHS Heat Pump Boilers in Gwangju…Annual Production Capacity of 100,000 Units
Samsung Electronics is establishing a domestic production system for EHS heat pump boilers at its Gwangju business site in line with the promotion of heating electrification. The company will begin trial production this month on a dedicated line spanning 2,132㎡ and is scheduled to commence full-scale mass production by the end of September, with annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 units. This product generates approximately 5 times the heat relative to input power, recording a seasonal performance coefficient of 4.9, and offers higher energy efficiency compared to fossil fuel-based boilers while reducing carbon emissions.

Korea Institute of Materials Science Develops Carbon Nanotube Film Enabling Simultaneous Electromagnetic Shielding and Infrared Stealth
The Korea Institute of Materials Science has developed a carbon nanotube hybrid film that simultaneously implements electromagnetic shielding and infrared stealth functions. This composite material, with an ultra-thin film measuring 1/5 the thickness of human hair, blocks electromagnetic waves by 99.9999999% or greater while possessing strength comparable to steel, and is expected to be widely applied to future weapon systems, aerospace, and 5G/6G communication devices.

The domestic OT security market has seen significantly heightened awareness centered on large enterprises, and POC demand is also increasing.
