Telit announced that its single-mode NE866B1-E1 and NL865B1-E1 modules for the European and Chinese markets have completed testing across multiple networks of two of Europe's largest mobile operators and have achieved LTE Category NB1 (NB-IoT) GCF certification.

The Global Certification Forum (GCF) is an international quality assurance standardization organization that verifies that IoT integrators and providers deploy cellular-connected devices and ensure module interoperability across global mobile networks.

These two modules are also in the process of being certified for the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and China Compulsory Commission (CCC), which are mandatory for use in Europe and China.

The NE866B1-E1 and NL865B1-E1 modules are ideal for space-constrained applications or for extending the life of existing Telit xE866 and xL865 form factor devices by leveraging the LTE Category NB1 standard. Applications include smart buildings and cities, smart agriculture, waste collection, healthcare, and remote monitoring such as smart meters. Existing applications designed for 2G, 3G, or LTE Category 1 can be upgraded to NB-IoT with little or no redesign.
