LG Electronics' smartphone payment service, LG Pay, is becoming even more comprehensive by significantly increasing the number of stores where payments can be made and adding various convenient features.

Starting on the 29th, LG Pay can be used at over 3,300 Shinsegae affiliate stores, including Shinsegae Department Store and E-Mart, as well as over 6,000 SPC affiliate stores, including Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, and Dunkin Donuts.

LG Pay is a smartphone service that allows you to make payments just like a credit card by simply placing your smartphone near a payment terminal after entering your fingerprint or password. It is not only convenient because there is no need to carry multiple cards, such as credit cards or membership cards, but it also offers excellent security as payments are made using a virtual card number.

Currently, smartphones equipped with LG Pay are the premium product lineup released this year, including the LG V30, LG V30+ (Plus), LG G6, LG G6+ (Plus), and LG G6 32GB. LG Electronics plans to apply LG Pay to newly released mid-range products starting next year.

LG Electronics plans to continuously expand its LG Pay-exclusive cards by partnering with credit card companies to provide customized benefits based on the analysis of consumer spending patterns.

Last month, LG Electronics partnered with Shinhan Card to launch the 'LG Pay Shinhan Card,' which enhances benefits for services frequently used by LG Pay customers based on big data analysis. This card offers a choice of various benefits, such as a 10% discount on the payment date when paying with LG Pay, a 50% discount on purchases at GS25 convenience stores, a 30% discount on the payment date when making online payments (Siren Order) through the Starbucks app, and a 5,000 won discount on the payment date when booking CGV movie tickets, providing a discount of up to 30,000 won per month.

LG Electronics plans to upgrade its service to enable payments not only offline but also online.

Lee Cheol-hoon, Senior Vice President of LG Electronics’ MC Management Strategy FD, emphasized, “We have continuously expanded the scope of our services, including applicable product lines and payment stores,” adding, “We will continue to upgrade our customer-centric, differentiated smartphone payment services by expanding the number of countries where they are available and the range of payment methods.”
