Schneider Electric Launches PLC System Upgrade Service
Published2017.12.07 11:10Schneider Electric has launched a new service to upgrade PLC (Programmable Logic Control) systems, helping to revitalize manufacturing systems in a simple, secure and cost-effective manner.
This service can be upgraded in less than an hour. It significantly reduces downtime and operational interruptions and allows for easy migration to Schneider Electric's Modicon M580 ePAC, which has built-in Ethernet and best-in-class processing performance and memory.
“Upgrading aging or end-of-life PLC systems has proven to improve the safety, efficiency and especially profitability of hybrid and process operations,” said Nathalie Marcotte, SVP, Industrial Services, Schneider Electric. “Our PLC Upgrade Service enables manufacturers to quickly and efficiently leverage Schneider Electric’s value-driven Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies and expertise to gain better insights. “Upgrading to the Modicon M580 ePAC will enable you to make more accurate and better business decisions at the moment they matter, thereby substantially improving operational profitability in a safe and sustainable manner.”
The Unity M580 application converter and migration expert configuration utility tool combine to provide a seamless migration experience, helping to identify operational gaps and provide recommendations to address each customer’s unique system challenges.
This combination will allow customers to easily convert Unity software applications on Quantum and Premium platforms to be compatible with the M580, and will also provide the option to create pre-engineering proposals for the new M580 I/O. Additionally, the TSX Premium processor’s rapid wiring system can be used to complete upgrades in less than an hour.

Schneider Electric Unveils Electric Cooling Solution
Schneider Electric unveiled Ecoflair Indirect Air Economizer, a cooling solution. SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation.
