Xilinx Board Completes 9-Month Succession Plan

Xilinx announced through its Board of Directors that Victor Peng has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 29, 2018. Victor Peng becomes Xilinx's fourth CEO and will lead Xilinx, the world's leading provider of programmable semiconductor products, at a time of accelerating leaps and opportunities.

Dennis Segers, Chairman of the Xilinx Board of Directors, stated, "Victor Peng possesses exceptional capabilities to execute vision and strategy at the highest global standards and is a pioneer of original thinking and innovation. He has architected Xilinx innovation over the past ten years and will drive the company forward with his proactive mindset and momentum." He added, "The Board has determined that Victor, as a proven leader with outstanding business acumen and enduring trusted relationships with our customers, is the ideal candidate to serve as CEO at this juncture as the company enters a new phase of innovation and growth."

Victor Peng joined Xilinx in 2008 and has spearheaded industry-leading strategy and technology transformation across Xilinx's product and service portfolio, resulting in three consecutive quarters of core product leadership and exceptional technology innovation in integration and programmability. He most recently served as COO and was appointed to the Board of Directors in October 2017.

Prior to joining Xilinx, Peng served as Vice President of Silicon Engineering for the Graphics Product Group (GPG) at AMD and was a key leader of the AMD Silicon Engineering team supporting graphics, console gaming products, CPU chipsets, and consumer business products. Peng earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
Moshe Gavrielov, in accordance with the previously announced CEO succession plan and the Board's decision, transitioned the CEO position to Victor Peng effective January 28.
