Emerson Network Power introduces the new 25W series to its increasingly diversified portfolio of high-efficiency power supplies for LED lighting.

Carlsbad, California [September 1, 2011] — Emerson Network Power (NYSE: EMR), a global leader in Business-Critical Continuity™ and a business unit of Emerson, today announced the new LDS25 Series, a high-efficiency power supply for LED lighting. The new 25W Series follows the existing LDS70 Series 70W product and reflects the rapidly growing market trend. With this high-efficiency, pre-certified power solution available for immediate commercial supply, OEMs and system installers can significantly accelerate time-to-market by using reliable LED lighting drivers provided by one of the world's largest power supply manufacturers.

Emerson Network Power's new LDS25 Series 25W LED power supply features an input range of 120 to 277 Vac and can supply up to 700 mA at 36 Vdc. Constant current and constant voltage output modes meet the requirements of various LED applications. Constant current mode operates from 36 V to 26 V, while constant voltage mode operates at load currents of 300 to 700 mA or up to a programmed current limit level. Any value within this load current range can be set using a single register. Alternatively, the output current can be adjusted by the user over the full range of 0 to 700 mA using an IEC 60929 compliant dimming function, and a standard control signal of 0 to 10 V is used.

The Emerson Network Power LDS25 power supply features active power factor correction, achieving a power factor of 0.9 or higher, and boasts a high typical conversion efficiency of 86 percent. With a rated ambient operating temperature of -30 to 60°C and an internal operating temperature of -30 to 90°C, this power supply does not require forced air cooling. Ideal for a wide variety of indoor applications, the new LDS25 LED lighting power supply is available in both open-frame and IP20-rated case configurations, diversifying customer application options. The open-frame model has a very small footprint of 5.8 x 1.6 inches (147 x 42 mm) and a height of just 1.1 inches (28 mm). Meanwhile, the IP20 case model has an area of 6.87 x 1.80 inches (174.5 x 45.6 mm) and a height of 1.26 inches (32 mm).

Emerson Network Power's LDS25 series power supplies fully comply with CISPR 15 requirements for EMI and meet FCC Part 15 conducted noise standards. These products provide comprehensive protection against short circuits, overvoltage, and overheating. Additionally, the LDS25 series features wiring overheating protection that automatically limits the rate of increase of output current to prevent damage to LEDs and driver circuits.

Important safety standards include EN 61347-2-13 and UL 8750 specific to LED-related applications, and the LDS25 series also complies with CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 and CE LVD directives.
