Xilinx Participates in 'Semicon Korea 2018' with Keynote Speech
Published2018.01.25 10:33Xilinx announced that Senior Vice President and CTO Ivo Bolsens will attend SEMICON Korea 2018, which will be held at COEX in Seoul from January 31 to February 2, and deliver a keynote speech.
The keynote speeches at Semicon Korea 2018 will present a vision for future applications and technological developments that the semiconductor industry is focusing on, covering topics such as quantum computing, intelligent semiconductors for automobiles, and computing hardware. In line with this direction, Ivo Bolsen is scheduled to give a presentation on the topic of “The Evolution from Chip Performance to System Performance.”

"Today's all-programmable FPGA platforms are well-suited to play a key role in implementing computing systems in cloud and edge infrastructure. Xilinx's single-chip SoCs can shorten industrial certification times.
Xilinx announced that its single-chip Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC functional safety solution will reduce the time required for IEC 61508 compliance and certification across various industrial applications such as IIoT edge controllers, motor drives, intelligent IO, smart sensors, gateways, industrial transportation, and power grids. The solution includes hardware design based on single-chip SIL 3 and HFT=1 architecture, along with all relevant documentation, assessment reports, IP, and software tools. By leveraging these resources, customers can significantly reduce risk and shorten certification and development time by up to 24 months. Additionally, whereas previously two or more devices were required to meet the reliability and redundancy requirements specified in IEC 61508, Xilinx's single-chip solution can reduce system costs by more than 40%.

자일링스의 사장 겸 CEO, 빅터 펭(Victor Peng) 임명
자일링스는 이사회를 통해 2018년 1월 29일자로 빅터 펭(Victor Peng)을 사장 겸 CEO로 임명했다고 발표했다. 빅터 펭은 자일링스의 네 번째 CEO가 되었으며, 도약과 기회가 증가하는 시점에서 전세계 프로그래머블 반도체 제품의 전세계 선두 업체인 자일링스를 이끌 예정이다. 자일링스 이사회 의장인 데니스 세거스(Dennis Segers)는 "빅터 펭은 비전과 전략을 세계 최고의 수준으로 실행하고 독창적인 능력과 혁신을 주도하는 탁월한 역량을 갖추고 있다. 그는 지난 10년 동안 자일링스 혁신을 설계해왔으며, 적극적인 마인드와 추진력으로 회사를 더욱 발전시킬 것이다."라고 말하며, “이사회는 혁신과 성장의 새로운 국면에 접어든 이 시점에서 탁월한 비즈니스 통찰력을 가지고 있으며, 고객과의 변함 없는 신뢰 관계를 갖춘 입증된 리더인 빅터가 CEO로써 적임자라고 판단했다."고 전했다.

Xilinx Launches Safety-Critical Automotive-Certified SoC
자일링스는 안전 중심의 ADAS 및 자율 주행 시스템을 개발할 수 있는 오토모티브 인증 징크(Zynq) 울트라스케일+ MPSoC 제품군을 출시했다. 자일링스 오토모티브 XA 징크 울트라스케일+ MPSoC 제품군은 ISO26262 ASIL-C 레벨 인증을 획득한 AEC-Q100 시험 규격에 따라 적합성을 인증 받았다. 이 제품은 기능이 풍부한 64bit 쿼드 코어 ARM Cortex-A53과 듀얼 코어 ARM Cortex-R5 기반 프로세싱 시스템(PS) 및 자일링스 프로그래머블 로직(PL) 울트라스케일 아키텍처를 단일 디바이스에 통합했다. 이 확장형 솔루션은 중요한 기능 안전 및 보안 기능을 통합했을 뿐만 아니라, 적절한 와트당 성능을 제공함으로써 다양한 오토모티브 고객 플랫폼에 적합하다.
