Achieving Home IoT by meeting security, device scalability, and mobile app-related standards
This is the first case of acquisition since the establishment of AAA rating, and smart home expansion is expected.

SK Telecom and Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced that Hyundai Engineering & Construction's Baekryeonsan Hillstate 4th Apartment located in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, received the AAA (Home IoT) grade for home network building certification from the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT).

On this day, the two companies held a ceremony to award the AAA Grade 1 Apartment Certificate at the Hyundai Construction building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, with officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT, SK Telecom, Hyundai Construction, and Hyundai Telecom in attendance.



Since 2007, the Ministry of Science and ICT has been operating a home network building certification system for buildings that can remotely control services such as lighting, heating, and access control, and in July of last year, it established a new AAA grade to promote the spread of home IoT.

The AAA grade acquired by the two companies this time is awarded to apartments that have passed the screening for factors such as linking 9 or more home network devices, controlling gas, lighting, and heating, as well as expandability of devices that can be linked to products from 5 or more different manufacturers through external control via mobile apps, and passing the KISA security inspection.

SK Telecom secured device expandability through collaboration with approximately 70 home appliance manufacturers, and achieved AAA rating by applying technology to control smart homes using voice recognition-based artificial intelligence devices ‘NUGU’ and ‘NUGU Mini.’

SK Telecom's Home Unit Manager Cho Young-hoon said, "The smart home service business “We have achieved the AAA rating for the first time in Korea through proactive collaboration with partners,” he said. “We will continue to lead the home IoT market by expanding our smart home services in the future.”
