Western Digital is adding two new products that maximize mobility to its G-Technology brand's high-performance premium storage lineup, the G-SPEED Shuttle.

This new product is a storage solution optimized for professional content creators, featuring fast transfer speeds, ample storage capacity, and portability.

As the Streaming Video on Demand (SVoD) market expands, the need for high-speed storage solutions that enable studios, production companies, and independent film companies to securely store and quickly move footage from 4K and 8K content production locations is also growing.

The new G-Speed Shuttle, featuring four bays, is fully compatible with the Thunderbolt 3 interface, meeting the performance demands of creative professionals. It delivers the capacity and performance required for media and entertainment workflows, while its mobility-focused design ensures fast and secure data transfer to post-production teams. It can transfer an hour of 4K video shot at 30 frames per second (fps) in just a few minutes at transfer speeds of up to 1,000 MB/s.

Equipped with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 is a portable 4-bay storage solution that offers up to 48TB of capacity and a wealth of hardware RAID configurations, including RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10. It seamlessly handles multi-streaming of 4K or higher video, whether in the studio or on location.

Equipped with a 7200RPM enterprise-grade removable HDD and transfer speeds of up to 1,000MB/s, it's ideal for professional content creators who require high-capacity storage for demanding video and photo work. The G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 is currently available in Korea as of the end of January 2018 and comes in four capacities: 16TB, 24TB, 32TB, and 48TB.
