Sidiz Launches 'Ringo Smart' with IoT Technology

LG Uplus announced that it is launching 'Ringo Smart,' a smart chair equipped with IoT technology, in collaboration with Sidiz.

Ringo Smart, launching in early February, is a product that combines IoT technology with Sidiz's student chair 'Ringo'. It helps children develop proper posture and study habits by allowing parents to check information on their children's sitting habits, such as sitting time and posture, via smartphone.

Ringo Smart can be used anywhere with a Wi-Fi environment by connecting with the 'IoT@home' application, LG Uplus's home IoT platform.

This product measures sitting postures, such as standing, slouching, and bending, in real time and displays them in an animated format via a smartphone app for intuitive understanding. To support effective posture coaching, it also provides cumulative data on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, as well as information on the growth and posture habits of children of the same age.

In particular, Ringo Smart is equipped with a 'fiber-type flexible pressure sensor,' the world's first mass-produced by LG Innotek, mounted on the seat to enable precise and even pressure measurement over a wide area, and analyzes the occupant's posture through an algorithm utilizing LG CNS's big data-based machine learning technology.

Ahn Sung-joon, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Uplus’s IoT Division, stated, “We plan to continuously launch services that enhance customer convenience in the furniture sector, which is closely related to their daily lives,” adding, “In 2018, we will expand our IoT product range to solidify our position as the leading provider in the domestic home IoT market.”
