Singapore Grab Taxi to be First to Offer In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems

Samsung Electronics has signed a strategic partnership (MOU) with Grab to supply Knox, which provides mobile solutions and security features along with smart devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Grab provides services in 186 cities across eight Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia, using passenger cars, motorbikes, and taxis.

Grab's app is used on over 77 million mobile devices and has 2.3 million registered drivers.

Samsung Electronics and Grab plan to expand their financing program to all Southeast Asian countries to enable registered drivers to easily purchase and use Samsung smartphones.



Samsung Electronics products are also supplied to Grab kiosks and booths. Grab is installing kiosks and booths in major airports, hotels, and shopping malls to ensure easy access to Grab services for global customers visiting Southeast Asia.

Grab kiosks and booths are available for first-time visitors to Southeast Asia, allowing them to easily use the service without having to install or register the Grab application.

Samsung Electronics will also supply the in-vehicle infotainment system that will be introduced to Grab taxis in Singapore. The vehicle will feature a Samsung tablet equipped with Knox as its infotainment system, which will provide passengers with a variety of content, including information on major attractions, restaurants, videos, and customized advertisements.
