Supplying 'MyMote', a web dashboard for IIoT system operators

u-blox announced that its SARA cellular module series provides wireless communication connectivity for a new end-to-end platform for Industry 4.0. This platform enables existing devices to be easily connected to the cloud, improving business efficiency and services.

Iomote, the developer of the platform, unveiled a new solution at a workshop held at the Microsoft House in Milan last month. The core of this platform is the X400 gateway, which virtually adds cloud connectivity to industrial applications.

In addition, we supply 'MyMote,' a web dashboard used by IIoT system operators to manage various tasks, such as supply, remote software upgrades for field equipment, and system notifications.

Furthermore, telemetry data is transmitted directly to Microsoft's cloud computing platform, Azure, and can be provided exclusively to customers without third-party intervention.



Industrial IoT solutions require a real-time, two-way connection between devices and the cloud. For this application, ensuring a continuous connection was of the utmost importance.

"We tested the X400 in remote areas where cellular signals are very weak and unstable, and the overall performance was excellent, thanks to the u-blox SARA cellular module," said Iomote CEO Claudio Carnevali.

Connectivity, security, and over-the-air (OTA) programming, which provide the backbone for industrial IoT applications, are handled by the Iomote core processor.

Customer applications run on a separate application processor programmed through the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
