Schneider Electric Korea-Hyundai Engineering & Construction Sign Smart Factory Technology Partnership Agreement

Schneider Electric Korea announced that it signed a 'Smart Factory Technology Partnership MOU' with Hyundai Construction Technical Training Center, a construction professional training institute directly operated by Hyundai Construction, to foster professional human resources for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The two companies held an agreement signing ceremony at the Hyundai Engineering & Construction Technical Education Center in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul on February 20, 2018. The ceremony was attended by Schneider Electric Northeast Asia Hub Leader Diego Areces, EPC Team Leader Yoo Hae-soo, Schneider Academy Team Leader Son Jang-ik, Director Lee Dong-cheol, Senior Manager Jang Han-soo, and executives including Hyundai Engineering & Construction Technical Education Center Director Chae Byeong-seok, Manager Lee Jeong-pyo, and Manager Son Shin-yul.
Schneider Electric Korea and Hyundai Engineering & Construction Technical Training Center are jointly seeking to foster smart factory specialized technical human resources and provide employment support in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution. Therefore, in order to help the talents of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Technical Education Center develop into field-tailored talents, we support field trips and training, provide technical know-how and infrastructure support related to smart factories and smart buildings, share educational programs, and provide special lectures.
Through this agreement, the two organizations expect to achieve customized talent development for the rapidly changing global manufacturing and construction industries, as well as strategic technology support and mutual cooperation in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Diego Arces, Northeast Asia Hub Leader at Schneider Electric, explained the significance of the business agreement through this event, saying, “Schneider Electric has been preparing for the 4th Industrial Revolution from early on, and we will strive to cultivate competitive talent for the next generation by utilizing the insights accumulated over a long period of time. Through this partnership with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Technical Training Institute, we will actively take the lead in discovering and supporting the growth of differentiated talent in the Korean manufacturing and construction industries.”
A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, “Through our partnership with Schneider Electric, we have been able to build a competitive educational infrastructure by providing diverse educational equipment and quality content for our trainees.” He added, “We will strive to ensure that the Hyundai Engineering & Construction Technical Training Center grows into a mecca for cutting-edge construction industry technical education and will continue to cooperate so that our excellent trainees can advance into leading positions in the construction industry.”

Schneider Electric Launches Uninterruptible Power Supply 'Easy UPS Series'
Schneider has launched the EASY UPS, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed for easy use by small businesses and manufacturers. As a system to prevent damage caused by power outages, it resolves power quality disturbances such as overcurrent, low voltage, overvoltage, and waveform distortion. The product is widely used not only in industrial facilities but also in general households. The 'Easy UPS Series' is rapidly delivered to desired locations and can be easily installed directly by purchasers without complex installation procedures. It is lightweight, occupies minimal installation space, and is convenient to relocate and reinstall. In double conversion mode, it provides maximum efficiency of 96%, and in energy-saving eco mode, it delivers maximum efficiency of 99%, raising industry standards to a new dimension for 10~40kVA UPS systems.

Schneider Electric Hosts 'Go Green in the City 2018'
Schneider Electric is hosting the 'Go Green in the City 2018' global competition to discover innovative ideas and solutions for smart cities that enable efficient energy management. The competition is a major event for undergraduate and graduate students in engineering and business fields worldwide. In 2017, approximately 20,000 students from around 3,000 universities across 180 countries participated. Winners receive benefits including mentoring from expert professionals at Schneider Electric, networking with participating students worldwide, travel, prize money, and special employment benefits with Schneider Electric. In particular, Korea will accept registration and project submissions from today through the first week of June, with final judging on July 5th to select three teams. The winning teams will be provided with a total of 9 million won in scholarships as well as the opportunity to participate in the Schneider Electric internship program.
