Published2018.02.26 16:422Mouser Electronics is now stocking the STWLC33 inductive wireless power receiver from STMicroelectronics (ST). The STWLC33 is an integrated, multi-mode wireless power receiver solution optimized for portable fast-charging applications (up to 15W). Compliant with both the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Qi 1.2 and PMA-SR1 AirFuel inductive wireless standard communication protocols, it quickly charges portable devices regardless of protocol.
The STWLC33 inductive wireless power receiver from ST, available from Mouser Electronics, makes it easy to power dual-function portable devices. It offers several benefits, including an enhanced user experience, faster wireless charging speeds, and system efficiency. The STWLC33, ST's first 3W transmitter, transfers power to a second receiver using the same coil. This means users can wirelessly charge one device while simultaneously charging another. The STWLC33 is also the first device to provide an output voltage capable of charging a 2-cell lithium-ion battery.

At the heart of the STWLC33 is a 32-bit, 32MHz Arm Cortex-M microcontroller with 32Kb of firmware/ROM memory and 8Kb of RAM. Features such as low-impedance integrated synchronous rectifier and LDO linear regulator provide up to 80% total system efficiency and low power loss.
The STWLC33 features features that enhance the user experience, such as quickly powering up the system when a chargeable object is detected. It also offers special features that enhance Foreign Object Detection (FOD) performance, cutting off power to external objects and preventing overheating. It also features a 32MHz PWM timer, an 8-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and configurable GPIOs (general-purpose input/output ports).
ST's STWLC33 inductive wireless power receiver is ideal for small wireless applications such as tablets, power banks, phones, medical equipment, and wearable devices. Designers can combine the STWLC33 receiver with the STWBC-EP wireless charging controller transmitter to complete a fast-charging device. The STEVAL-ISB042V1 evaluation board, which supports the STWLC33, includes STWLC firmware, allowing engineers to adjust parameters and settings to integrate the STWLC33 power receiver into their final application.

With a thickness of 0.35mm and response time of 4ms, it is thinner than conventional eccentric motors and linear resonant motors, while offering higher energy efficiency. The TDK PiezoHapt actuators supplied by Mouser are designed with a unimorph structure and consist of multilayer piezo elements attached to one side of a diaphragm. Thanks to the unimorph structure, it can adapt to temperature and shape changes while operating at low voltage. It is driven at a minimum voltage of 24V and exhibits various vibration patterns depending on the amplitude and frequency of the applied voltage. At a frequency of 200Hz and peak voltage of 24V, the PiezoHapt typically provides a displacement of 65μm (no-load).

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
