It is optimized to provide constant connectivity between parents and children to ensure safety. Parents can control the Kids Watch by installing the 'U+ Family Guardian' app on their smartphones. In particular, the 'Call Me' function is expected to be the most used function by parents because it allows the Kids Watch to call parents without the child directly calling, allowing them to hear their child's voice at any time. In the Family Guardian app, you can use services such as 'Call Me', checking your child's real-time location and footsteps, and receiving notifications when your child leaves a safe area.

The 'Emergency Call' mode is also useful in case your child gets lost or is in an emergency. If your child presses the emergency call button on the kids watch for more than 3 seconds, the current location will be transmitted to the parent's smartphone app along with a notification sound.

'Kakao Friends Kids Watch' can use services such as daily conversation, Korean-English dictionary, and weather check through a voice AI platform developed and commercialized by LG U+. The AI's recognition rate for children's voices has been greatly enhanced by learning words, intonations, and sentence patterns that children often use. LG U+ operated internal focus groups from the service development stage to catch incorrect expressions or incomplete sentences that children often use. It is evaluated that it has overcome the limitations of existing AI services in the industry that accumulate data centered on adults.

It is also noteworthy that it is the first in the industry to provide AI services in the form of ‘child voices’. It provides children’s voices by default, tailored to children’s eye level, and allows the user to select from 12 additional voices, making it more friendly and fun to use. For example, if a child says, “What is ㅇㅇ?”, Kids Watch responds in a voice similar to that of a friend of similar age, “That’s ㅇㅇㅇ.” Even if the voice recognition is not done properly, it will say, “I didn’t hear you right. Instead of saying “Please say that again,” say “I can’t hear you! Press the mic.”

In addition, you can easily change the settings of the kids watch through AI voice control, so you can use it comfortably even if you are not familiar with using the device. For example, if you say, “The screen is dark,” it will adjust the screen brightness, and if you say, “Put it in vibration mode,” it will change it to vibration mode. When running vibration mode, games, or English dictionaries, you can say, “Let’s do ㅇㅇ,” or “Run ㅇㅇ,” and the user’s speech will be recognized and the desired function will be operated.

LG U+'s Kakao Friends Kids Watch was planned in collaboration with Kakao Friends from the initial product planning stage, with Kakao Friends characters incorporated not only into the simple external design and accessories, but also into the GUI.

The Kids Watch includes a wrist strap with Kakao Friends characters, a necklace-type case, a liquid crystal film, and Kakao Friends character decorations. It comes in two colors, blue and pink, and the wrist strap and necklace case feature the characters Ryan (blue) and Apeach (pink), which are expected to be popular with children.

'Kakao Friends Kids Watch' also supports various services that children need, such as six game services that combine fun and learning, a school mode that provides separate settings when at school, an English song service, and alarm and schedule management functions.

The 'Kakao Friends Kids Watch' can be purchased at all LG U+ stores nationwide and the online mall 'U+ Shop'. The retail price is 275,000 won, and if you use the 'LTE Wearable KIDS' plan, you can purchase it for an actual purchase price of 120,000 won with a public subsidy of 155,000 won. The monthly flat rate for the LTE Wearable KIDS plan is 8,800 won, which allows you to use 200 MB of data and 50 minutes of voice calls per month. If you designate your mom or dad, who is using a U+ phone, as free calls, you can make calls freely without worrying about charges.
