STMicroelectronics (ST) announced that Remo Wireless (hereinafter Remo), a China-based manufacturer of IoT products and integrated solutions, is designing various IoT location tracker products in North America, Japan, and China by utilizing Sequence and ST's IoT location tracker platform, CLOE.

Chloe (Connecting and Locating Objects Everywhere) is an all-in-one solution for developing IoT location tracker products for ODM companies worldwide, combining Sequence's LTE-M (4G LTE technology) chip Monarch and ST's GNSS (satellite navigation system) chip Teseo III.

Lu Biao, Director of Marketing and Sales at Limo, stated, “We selected Chloe because it is the most powerful IoT location tracker development solution we have ever seen, combining the best technologies of Sequence and ST.” He added, “Chloe is a compact and complete solution with LTE-M, MEMS, and GNSS all pre-integrated, and despite its very small form factor, it can be expanded to include Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi.” "We are developing solutions such as asset trackers, pet and child location trackers, and on-board diagnosis II (OBDII)," he said.

CLO, a turnkey IoT location tracking solution for OEMs and ODMs, integrates a Power Management Unit (PMU), LTE, GNSS, memory, and a microcontroller into a very small package of 30 x 40 mm. It is a highly designed product that enables multi-location tracking applications with superior battery life, location tracking accuracy, reachability, mobility, and reporting frequency. The GNSS, LTE-M, and application domain power systems are designed separately so that even if other domains are turned off, the GNSS subsystem operates to continue tracking and maintains minimal power consumption.

Chloe is now on sale, and production optimization is being achieved based on material costs for LTE, GNSS, accelerometers, power supplies, battery control, LEDs, and button control. By providing modular designs, customized designs can be easily created by simply copying and pasting to optimize material costs.
