The 'World Security Expo 2018 (SECON 2018)', where you can experience and examine the latest security technologies and trends in response to changes in the IT environment, was held on the 14th.

The Security Expo, held for three days from March 14th to 16th at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, is an exhibition certified by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and will showcase the latest domestic and international video surveillance, access control, biometric systems, and IT security solutions.

The convergence of physical and information security has led to the emergence of new security technologies. Representative examples include NSOK's AI-powered unmanned store, developed in collaboration with SK Group companies using new ICT technologies; Innodep's exception processing analysis CCTV; S1's facial recognition speed gate; and Incon's intelligent security system.



Additionally, conferences on various topics and perspectives related to security and safety will be held to discuss new technologies, trends, and implementation cases of cutting-edge security solutions. Presentations from international organizations and companies will also be presented, providing a forum for comprehensive communication on the domestic and international security markets.

This expo is Asia's representative international integrated security exhibition. Last year, a total of 421 companies from 10 countries participated and operated 904 booths. This year, a record is expected to be broken, as 135 companies, or 30% of the participating companies, applied for participation on-site.

Through this exhibition, companies participating in the "World Security Expo 2018" are expected to create new revenue models, gain overseas expansion opportunities, promote themselves to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and lead the security industry. This year's exhibitors include Samsung S1, SK Infosec, Innodep, CUDO Communications, Incon, ZK Teco, and NSOK.

Leading companies in the security industry, as well as the security initiatives currently being implemented by the Daejeon and Daegu metropolitan cities, were introduced. Daejeon's "Smart City" and Daegu's "Intelligent Security Control System" were the first local governments to implement these systems, serving as reference models for other organizations.

Kim In-ho, a member of the information security team at the Daegu Metropolitan City Information Technology Office, said, “We expect to be able to conduct efficient control and protect citizens from disasters, calamities, and accidents through an intelligent security control system.”
