Samsung Unveils Advanced Medical Devices and Diagnostic Solutions at 'KIMES 2018'
Published2018.03.15 11:35Samsung Electronics and Samsung Medison are participating in the 34th 'KIMES 2018 (International Medical Equipment & Hospital Facilities Exhibition)' held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul from the 15th to the 18th, showcasing the latest medical devices and imaging diagnostic solutions.
'KIMES 2018' is the largest medical-related exhibition in Korea, with 1,313 companies from 34 countries participating and attracting over 80,000 visitors.
Samsung set up an exhibition booth emphasizing its medical device philosophy of 'Access,' 'Accuracy,' and 'Efficiency,' and showcased the ceiling-mounted digital X-ray 'GC85A,' the mobile digital X-ray 'GM85,' and the premium ultrasound diagnostic device 'RS85' for radiology.
In addition, the diagnostic functions of the ceiling-mounted X-ray 'GC85A' can be experienced through virtual reality (VR).
'GC85A' is equipped with 'S-Vue,' a low-dose digital X-ray imaging technology that allows for the acquisition of high-quality chest images using only half the radiation dose compared to conventional methods, and 'S-Vue' received US FDA approval last November.
In addition, 'SimGrid' (image post-processing technology), which eliminates X-ray scattering during X-ray imaging, is applied, and 'Grid &' which eliminates X-ray scattering at the time of imagingIt allows for the acquisition of clear images of an equivalent level without the need for a separate attachment, thereby reducing patient waiting time.

In addition, the 'Bone Suppression' function, which removes the rib portion from chest X-ray images to visualize tumors hidden behind bones with a single shot, enhances diagnostic accuracy.
Samsung set up a low-dose campaign zone, allowing visitors to compare the amount of radiation they are exposed to in daily life with the radiation emitted during 'GC85A' X-ray imaging through quizzes and game events.
In particular, at this exhibition, Samsung plans to focus on diversifying its customer base and business by showcasing a diverse lineup of ultrasound diagnostic devices, ranging from premium products to entry-level models that offer both performance and affordability. Furthermore, the company will exhibit not only its unrivaled strengths in OB/GYN ultrasound equipment but also the premium radiology ultrasound device 'RS85'.
The 'RS85' is equipped with 'MV-Flow™', a microcirculation diagnostic aid, and 'S-Shearwave Imaging', which provides information on the degree of elasticity used as a diagnostic indicator in tumor diagnosis using ultrasonic transverse wave elasticity.
Meanwhile, on the 18th, the last day of the exhibition, the 'KIMES Ultrasound Hands-on Seminar' organized by the Korean Society of Clinical Ultrasound will be held on the 3rd floor of COEX for internal medicine practitioners, and theoretical lectures and practical training utilizing Samsung's ultrasound medical devices are scheduled to take place.all.

LG Innotek: "Will Become World's No. 1 in UV LED through Proprietary Technology and Cooperation with SMEs"
"UV LED is an innovative light source that can make our lives cleaner and safer, improving quality of life," said Park Jong-seok, president of LG Innotek, at a press conference held at the LG Seoul Station Building.
