Supports 4K resolution and HDR, ideal for photo/video professionals

ASUS has announced the launch of the PA32UC-K, a 32-inch 4K resolution and HDR capable monitor for photo and video professionals.

The most notable feature of the PA32UC-K monitor for photo/video professionals is that it features a whopping 384 direct-type LED backlights densely attached to the back of the display panel, enabling it to produce very detailed black and white and contrast ratios for not only HDR content but also general video expression.

In the case of general monitors, LEDs are arranged in a row at the bottom of the monitor and the screen is displayed by refracting light through a light guide plate, but the ASUS PA32UC-K monitor has LEDs behind the display screen (direct type), so it can achieve a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, allowing for detailed and delicate color expression.

White and bright areas in photos and videos are illuminated with more LED light, while dark and black areas are blocked from emitting LED light, resulting in a black-and-white contrast that is closer to reality within a single photo or video frame. This technology, unavailable with conventional refractive LEDs, delivers a clearer color contrast.

As expected from a professional monitor, the ASUS PA32UC-K has excellent color reproduction. Based on a 32-inch 4K UHD resolution Quantum Dot IPS panel, it satisfies a high percentage of color gamuts suitable for each standard, such as sRGB 100%, Adobe RGB 99.5, and DCI-P3 95%.


Also included for photo/video professionals is the i1 Display Pro calibrator from X-rite, which, when installed with ASUS ProArt calibration software, is compatible with the X-rite i1 and Spyder 5 series to optimize color accuracy and enable easy color calibration of the monitor.

Designed for professionals who use monitors for long periods of time, ASUS's focus on user health and convenience is also notable. As befitting ASUS, the company with the most TÜV certifications in the monitor sector in Germany's Rheinland, the PA32UC-K model also features built-in flicker-free and blue light-blocking technologies. Its ergonomic design also supports height adjustment, swivel, tilt, and pivot.

In addition, for compatibility with other devices, as it works with photos and videos, the input terminal section is equipped with HDMI 2.0 X4, Display Port 1.2, Thunderbolt 3, and USB 3.0 Type-A, B, and C, so it is compatible with any video output terminal.
