Use as much as you want without worrying about T Membership limits!

SK Telecom is reorganizing its membership as its third customer value innovation. Reflecting the inconveniences of T Membership customers, the annual discount limit for each membership level will be eliminated and the scope of use will be expanded. The new membership will be implemented from the 2nd of next month, and will be announced to customers through the official website T World and the T Membership app.
The ‘annual discount limit’ will be removed for all T membership levels.
The concept of annual discount limits will disappear for all membership levels. Previously, annual discount limits were provided in the form of VIP (unlimited)/Gold (100,000 points)/Silver (70,000 points)/General (50,000 points) by membership level.
Until now, T membership customers, excluding VIP level customers, have had difficulty freely using membership due to the deduction of the annual discount limit. For example, if a 'general' level customer with an annual discount limit of 50,000 points receives a 40% discount on a Lotte World free pass (55,000 won) once, 22,000 points are deducted, making it difficult to use within the remaining limit.
But from now on, you can enjoy membership affiliate discounts without having to check your remaining discount limit. The existing benefits for each level are basic, and with the addition of the newly introduced T Day discount, the benefits for all T membership customers are expected to expand.
Starting April 2, T Membership customers will receive a text message, app, etc. informing them of the ‘accumulated discount benefit’ amount instead of the ‘remaining discount limit’ whenever they use the membership discount.
SK Telecom will also simplify its membership levels from the four levels of 'VIP/ Gold/ Silver/ General' to three levels of 'VIP/ Gold/ Silver'. Discount benefits for each level, which were applied differently depending on the usage, will remain the same as before, and T Day benefits will be provided in the same way.
T Day special discount benefits throughout the year, surprise announcement on the 1st of every month
SK Telecom will hold T Day every month (8 or 9 days total) starting in April for all customers regardless of T membership level. T Day is not a temporary promotion but a year-round program, and it plans to add new places of use and expand the discount range for existing places of use in the future.
T Day is the first Monday to Friday of every month, and every Wednesday, and is a date that appears in the shape of a T on the calendar. Benefits for each T Day date can be checked on the T Membership app. Except for April, benefits for the first week of every month are revealed one by one on the 1st, benefits for each Wednesday are revealed one by one on the previous Thursday.
Benefits for the first week of April include ▲40,000 invitations to Caribbean Bay, ▲22% discount at 11th Street, ▲50% discount on Dunkin Donuts Glazed Pack and coffee, etc.
It's also worth taking advantage of the surprise benefits every Wednesday. ▲11th, 1+1 Megabox movie ticket reservation benefits ▲18th, 60% discount on Domino's Pizza ▲25th, 7,000 won discount on nationwide chicken delivery on Yogiyo, etc.
Seo Seong-won, head of SK Telecom’s MNO business division, said, “Following the contract system and roaming, we have reorganized the membership system that customers use the most,” and added, “We hope that customers will enjoy using T Membership in their daily lives.”

We must prepare for future communications through 'THz'-based 6G research
1세대에서 4세대까지 발전과정을 거치면서 이동통신 속도를 높이고 지연성을 단축했다. 그리고 각 세대로 넘어가는 연구 및 개발 속도도 줄고 있다. 그 결과, 5G의 상용화를 앞두고 있다. 최근. 미국 방위고등연구계획국(DARPA)과 중국 정부는 ‘6G 선행 통신 연구 프로젝트’에 착수하며 미래 통신을 준비하기 시작했다. 아직 5G의 표준도 정해지지 않은 상황에서 시작한 6G 연구는 이목이 쏠린다. 국내는 1/2G는 음성 위주의 모바일 서비스로 시작해 3G/4G 시대로 접어들면서 ‘스마트폰’을 통한 모바일 인터넷이 가능해졌다. 최근에는 평창 동계올림픽을 계기로 5G 시범 사업을 시작했다. 5G는 넓어진 대역폭에 20Gbps 이상의 속도를 제공한다. 이는 1Gbps 속도인 4G와 20배 차이다. 또한, 응답 지연속도가 4G보다 10분의 1 이하로, 1000분의 1초까지 응답속도가 빠르다. 초고속, 초저지연성의 특징을 지닌 5G는 사물인터넷 기반의 4차 산업 핵심 요소이다.

SKT Takes Care of the Safety of 2G Phone Customers Who Cannot Receive Disaster Text Messages
SK텔레콤이 정부와 재난문자 수신이 불가능한 2G폰 고객 59만 명을 대상으로 휴대폰 교체 지원 캠페인을 실시한다. 이는 국민 안전 제고를 위한 정부의 요청에 따른 것으로 우선 6개월간 실시한다. 추후 필요에 따라 기간을 연장할 수 있다. SK텔레콤은 재난문자 수신이 불가능한 2G폰 고객이 캠페인 대상 LTE폰 6종 중 하나로 교체 시 추가 지원금을 지급하고 해당 LTE폰을 기기값 0원에 구매할 수 있게 했다. LTE폰 6종은 2G폰 고객이 주로 이용하는 휴대폰이 폴더폰과 피처폰인 점을 고려, 형태와 기능이 비슷한 제품으로 선정했다. 또한, SK텔레콤은 재난문자 수신 불가 2G폰 고객이 LTE폰으로 교체 시 2G요금제 7종에 대한 가입도 예외적으로 허용, 기존 요금 수준 그대로 사용할 수 있게 했다. 가입 후에는 고객이 요금제를 변경하지 않는 이상 계속 이용할 수 있다. 2G 요금제에는 기본 데이터 제공량이 없는 점을 고려하여 원치 않는 데이터 요금 부과를 막기 위한 데이터 차단 기능도 기본 적용한다. 데이터 사용을 원하는 고객의 경우 데이터 차단 기능을 해제하거나 LTE 요금제에 가입하면 된다.

유럽특허청(EPO)의 ‘기술 대시보드 2025’에 따르면 지난해 유럽 특허 출원은 20만1974건으로 처음 20만건을 넘었다. 한국 기업과 발명가의 출원은 1만4355건으로 전년보다 9.5% 증가해 국가별 5위를 유지했다. 배터리와 디지털 통신, 반도체가 증가세를 이끌었고, 삼성은 2년 연속 EPO 최대 출원 기업, LG는 3위에 올랐다. 서울·수원·용인 등 국내 주요 도시의 존재감도 확인됐다. 한국의 유럽 특허 전략이 개별 기술을 넘어 산업 전반으로 확장되고 있다는 점도 드러났다.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK텔레콤이 3월 21일 서울 광화문 일대에서 열린 대형 K-팝 공연에 AI 기반 네트워크 운영 시스템을 처음 적용해 통신 품질을 관리했다고 밝혔다. 공연 전후 3시간 동안 모바일 데이터 사용량은 12.15TB로 직전 주말 같은 시간대보다 약 2배 늘었다. SK텔레콤은 AI 시스템 ‘A-One’을 활용해 5분 단위, 50m 단위로 트래픽을 감시하며 과부하 가능성에 대응했고, 임시 통신 시설과 현장 인력 운영도 병행했다. 밀집 행사와 외국인 이용 수요가 동시에 늘어나는 환경에서 AI 기반 자율 네트워크 운영의 현장 적용 가능성을 확인한 사례로 해석된다.
