Provides up to 60W per PoE port, designed for IP cameras

Moxa announced the launch of its PoE switch product, the EDS-P506E-4PoE series.

These products provide up to 60W per PoE port for integrated data and power transmission. The power output is designed to be suitable for IP cameras using power-consuming functions such as PTZ, lighting, heaters, and fans in harsh environments. The EDS-P506E-4PoE switch features built-in device-level cybersecurity, remote control capabilities, and Powered Device (PD) monitoring functions required for operation in industrial applications such as highways, roadsides, and public utilities.

60W PoE
The EDS-P506E-4PoE features four high-speed Ethernet PoE+ ports capable of supplying up to 60W per port, providing a total of 180W of power. It includes Smart PD recognition and operates via “plug-and-play,” allowing it to easily power any PoE PD. As industries become increasingly smarter and more connected, cities and industrial sectors are seeing a rise in the use of video surveillance systems to enhance safety and security. Jackie Hsueh, Product Manager for Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure at Moxa, said, “Moxa’s EDS-P506E-4PoE switch can provide up to 60W per PoE port, so it can reliably power all types of PTZ cameras using multiple functions.”

Web-based smart PD management
He added, “The most important feature of the EDS-P506E-4PoE series is its built-in Smart PoE software, which facilitates web-based PD diagnosis and management.” Because Smart PoE automatically detects the PD’s power rating, status, and errors for smart diagnosis, it can automatically reboot the camera after identifying issues such as video freezing or lag. This feature enhances operational efficiency and significantly reduces the manpower required for maintenance.

Robust switch with device-level security
The EDS-P506E-4PoE supports millisecond-level failover redundancy, dual power inputs, and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C to maximize uptime for data and power transmission under harsh conditions, enabling robust, uninterrupted operation. These switch products include security features based on the IEC 62443 standard to protect the network from unauthorized access.
