Results of a clinical trial conducted with Severance Hospital researchers

Test results have shown that LG Electronics' PuriCare 360° air purifier is effective against allergic rhinitis.

LG Electronics recently completed a clinical trial titled "Verification of Clinical Efficacy of Air Purifiers in Adult Patients with Allergic Rhinitis," conducted in collaboration with researchers at Severance Hospital. The trial involved a total of 43 patients with allergic rhinitis over a period of six weeks. As the largest-scale domestic clinical trial regarding air purifier performance, the reliability of the results is high.

LG Electronics and the research team determined the extent to which rhinitis symptoms improve when patients with allergic rhinitis use the PuriCare 360° air purifier at home.

According to test results, patients who used the PuriCare 360° air purifier took 26% less medication compared to control patients who did not.

Specifically, using the PuriCare 360˚ air purifier reduced indoor PM10 and PM2.5 fine dust by more than 50% on a 24-hour average basis. In addition, clean indoor air was maintained at the levels recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), such as '24-hour average PM10 fine dust of 50 micrograms (μg) or less and PM2.5 fine dust of 25 micrograms or less per cubic meter (m3).'

The research team also confirmed that even if indoor air quality deteriorates due to various indoor activities such as cooking and cleaning, air pollution is quickly eliminated when using the PuriCare 360˚ air purifier.

This result is significant as it serves as proof that the LG PuriCare 360° air purifier is keeping the air in the house clean.

Professor Park Joong-won of Yonsei University College of Medicine, who oversaw the clinical trial, stated, “Considering that people spend most of their time indoors, we confirmed that the PuriCare air purifier can significantly contribute to protecting users’ health.”

The LG PuriCare 360° air purifier is equipped with a PM1.0 sensor to detect ultrafine dust particles with a diameter of 1 micrometer (㎛, 1㎛ is one millionth of a meter) or less, and automatically adjusts the wind speed according to air conditions.

This product applies '6-step total care' to remove large dust, yellow dust and ultrafine dust, allergens, household odors such as ammonia, acetaldehyde, and acetic acid, substances causing sick building syndrome such as toluene and formaldehyde, and smog-causing substances such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide.

In particular, the 'Clean Booster' that sends clean air far, the '360-degree cylindrical design' that reduces blind spots, and intensive use in spaces less than 1 meter high Features such as 'Baby Care,' which emits clean air, are also receiving favorable reviews from users.
