LG Electronics' 21:9 aspect ratio 5K monitor has been named the "Best Monitor" by TIPA (Technical Image Press Association), the most prestigious association of photography and video professionals.

TIPA is an organization composed of professional photography and video media outlets representing 16 countries across five continents, and annually selects the best products in the photography and video field by evaluating innovation, technology, design, and convenience.

LG Electronics expects this award to further strengthen its dominance in the premium monitor market. Last year, LG Electronics ranked first in sales volume share in the global 21:9 monitor market. This marks the fifth consecutive year at the top, from 2013 to 2017. When using a 21:9 monitor, users can display photos and videos in a 16:9 aspect ratio while simultaneously performing necessary tasks on the remaining screen space.

LG Electronics also ranked first in sales share for the first time last year in the market for high-definition monitors of 4K (3,840 x 2,160) or higher, which are excellent for detailed work.

The 21:9 aspect ratio 'LG UltraWide Nano IPS Monitor (Model Name: 34WK95U)', selected as the 'Best Monitor', features a 5K-class (5,120 x 2,160) resolution. It has over 11 million pixels. This allows for more than 30% greater detail than 4K monitors, which have around 8.3 million pixels. LG Electronics is the first in the monitor industry to introduce a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor with 5K resolution.

LG Electronics has applied a 'Nano IPS' panel utilizing nanometer-scale fine molecules to this product. These fine molecules eliminate inaccurate colors. For instance, they absorb the yellow and orange tones that are mixed in when displaying red. This allows photography and video professionals to reproduce colors exactly as intended.

This product excels in brightness and color reproduction, displaying High Dynamic Range (HDR) content effectively. HDR is a high-definition technology that enhances contrast by emphasizing both dark and bright areas of the screen. It is gaining popularity in industries such as film, drama, and gaming. This product delivers a brightness of 600 candela (cd/m2), equivalent to lighting 600 candles in a one-square-meter space. Its color gamut satisfies 98% of the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI)-P3 standard, which is the color standard used in film production.

The 'LG UltraWide Nano IPS Monitor' meets the 'HDR 600' standard of the 'Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).' The 'HDR 600' standard is awarded to products with a brightness of 600 candela or higher and a wide color gamut.
