Mouser to Stock STMicroelectronics' ACEPACK IGBT Modules
Published2018.05.03 16:25Mouser Electronics announced that it is now stocking ACEPACK IGBT modules from STMicroelectronics (ST).
ACEPACK (Adaptable Compact Easier PACKage) modules are part of a new family of plastic power modules developed for industrial applications. They provide cost-effective, highly integrated power conversion performance in industrial and power management solutions from 3 to 30 kW. They combine high power density with reliability, delivering industry-leading conduction and switching performance.
ST's ACEPACK IGBT modules, available from Mouser Electronics, are available in two configurations and feature ST's third-generation trench gate field-stop IGBTs. Application designers can choose either a six-pack module containing six IGBTs (using a freewheeling diode as a three-phase inverter) or a power integrated module (PIM) that provides a complete driver power stage. The PIM is a converter-inverter-brake (CIB) module that integrates a three-phase rectifier, three-phase inverter, and braking chopper to process energy returned from the load. Both module types include an NTC thermistor for temperature sensing and control.
Available in ACEPACK 1 or larger ACEPACK 2 sizes, with a choice of 650V or 1,200V IGBTs, current ratings range from 15A to 75A. ST's optimized IGBT modules have low stray inductance and EMI (electromagnetic interference) emissions, ensuring compliance with EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) regulations. With a maximum operating temperature of 175°C, it delivers outstanding performance even under the harshest conditions, allowing designers to design their applications to optimize heat sink functionality and power consumption.
The base plate of the package is also insulated to 2.5kV, allowing for easy assembly design.
ST's ACEPACK IGBT modules are available in a variety of mounting styles, including (1) solderless press-fit connections that simplify assembly instead of traditional soldered pins, and (2) metal clamps for fast and reliable mounting. ACEPACK modules provide solutions suitable for applications such as industrial motor drives, air conditioners, inverters, solar panels and generators, welders, battery chargers, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and electric vehicles.
