Hitachi Vantara Announces AI Operations Software and Flash Storage Portfolio

Through this update, Hitachi unveiled a new high-performance storage system for its storage product family that guarantees 100% data availability, as well as cross-platform AI analytics and IT automation software.
The new all-flash and hybrid Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) systems and AI operations software form the foundation of a data center modernization initiative that enables customers to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency through superior agility and automated capabilities. Developers can increase flexibility by integrating Docker and Red Hat OpenShift containers with the orchestration capabilities of Swarm and Kubernetes, allowing them to run more workloads on a single platform.
"As artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies continue to advance, enterprise storage companies have a tremendous opportunity to help customers on their journey toward autonomous operations," said Eric Burgener, Vice President of Storage Research at IDC. As the complexity of enterprise data center operations increases, operational efficiency can exacerbate the threat of system outages or data loss. Hitachi Vantara has enhanced its AI operations software portfolio to the industry's best to provide enterprises with a more agile data infrastructure. These AI operations software from Hitachi include HIAA (Hitachi Infrastructure Analytics Advisor), HAD (Hitachi Automation Director), and HDID (Hitachi Data Instance Director).
HIAA acts as an AI-powered “brain” to provide deeper data center insights by examining data paths that include virtual machines, servers, networks, and storage within the data center. HIAA uses machine learning to more efficiently optimize data center requirements, solve problems, and make predictions.
HAD provides an “engine” that coordinates the delivery and management of IT resources, allowing teams to focus on innovation. As a highly customized solution, HAD automates core daily IT service delivery tasks—such as virtual machines, network zoning, storage, and data protection—to minimize errors that impact uptime, customer experience, and return on investment (ROI).

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
