Showcasing products and services in various technology fields attracting attention as industry issues this year

The 'World IT Show 2018', where you can see the latest information and communication technologies and products such as 5G mobile communication and artificial intelligence at a glance, was held.

The World IT Show is Asia's largest international information and communications exhibition, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, marking its 11th edition this year. It will be held at COEX in Seoul for four days from the 23rd to the 26th.

Under the theme 'IT's Smart!', this event will showcase new products and services in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), 5th generation (G) mobile communication, augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), autonomous driving, smart cities & smart grids, smart agriculture, immersive media, O4O (Online for Offline), big data, and blockchain technology, which are attracting attention as industry issues this year.

LG Electronics has prepared a 363-square-meter (m²) booth at this exhibition and is displaying its recently launched flagship smartphone, the LG G7 ThinQ. We have set up an experience zone where customers can touch and feel the convenience of the core features they use most frequently, such as audio, battery, camera, and display.

You can experience the 'AI Camera,' which automatically recognizes objects when you point the camera and recommends optimal image quality such as field of view, brightness, and contrast; the 'Super Bright Display,' which allows you to see clearly even in sunlight with a brightness of 1,000 nits; the 'Super Bright Camera,' which shoots about four times brighter than conventional cameras; and the 'Boombox Speaker,' which allows you to feel powerful bass without a Bluetooth speaker.

Samsung Electronics designed its exhibition hall to allow visitors to directly experience various features, centering on the 'Galaxy S9', 'Galaxy S9+', '2018 Samsung QLED TV', 'Samsung Notebook Odyssey Z', and 'Samsung Notebook Pen'.

You can enjoy features of the Galaxy S9 series such as ▲'Super Slow Motion,' which captures even invisible moments by shooting at a speed of 960 frames per second, ▲'Dual Aperture,' which automatically adjusts according to ambient light, and ▲'My Emoji,' which creates fun emoticons with an avatar that looks like you.

In the Bixby Experience Zone, you can control the TV as well as all IoT devices connected to the SmartThings cloud using Bixby voice commands.Users can easily control devices and search for information. In addition to voice-controlled channels and volume, the system allows for connection and control with home appliances exhibited at the venue, such as Wind-Free air conditioners, Cube air purifiers, and robot vacuums, enabling users to experience the convenience of connectivity between various smart devices.

KT is showcasing an exhibition hall under the theme "TAKE OFF, 5G." Along with 5G Giva and the VR game Special Force, and MR Giva sports games, university student supporters Mobile Futurists conducted a Facebook live broadcast from the exhibition booth using the 5G network. Additionally, they prepared a video call experience with NTT Docomo officials at the Tokyo Bay Summit in Japan.

In addition, the 'ICT Future Talent Forum 2018' was also held. The exhibition booths are divided into a total of seven categories, including Future Society Industry ICT Convergence, Future Society Safety/Security, Smart Life & Health, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Content, Wearable, Intelligent Platform Services, and Special Exhibition Hall, with 37 research centers from 29 universities participating.

In particular, the Korea University AI Research Center demonstrates the era of AI personalization through a 'smart device embedded interface using micro-intelligence.' The Sogang University Smart Fintech Research Center showcases a blockchain-based fintech service platform. The Inha University AI Content Creation Research Center introduces an AI content creation system and an autonomous image recognition drone.

The 'ICT Technology Commercialization Festival' is held as a venue for technology exchange where technology suppliers and consumers meet, and where excellent R&D results in the ICT field leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution are exhibited, technology is transferred, and successful commercialization cases are shared through government support such as the Ministry of Science and ICT.

In addition, regarding the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which has recently been attracting attention, related conferences and seminars will be held, including the 'ICT Future Talent Forum 2018,' the 'Global ICT Trend Insight Conference,' and the 'Next-Generation Intelligent Vehicle Promising Technology Briefing.' Lectures and panel discussions on various topics related to AI, smart cars, VR/AR, IoT, fintech, mobile, telecommunications, and security will take place, providing a venue to share the latest information.

Minister of Science and ICT Yoo Young-min stated, “In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, various service industries such as autonomous vehicles and healthcare, as well as new manufacturing industries, will emerge explosively based on big data, 5th generation (5G) mobile communication, and artificial intelligence (AI).” He emphasized, “This World IT Show will be a great opportunity for the public to experience changes in their lives in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and to see how companies are responding to it.”
