Turbo CAN transceiver device supporting high-speed data transmission in high-capacity CAN networks
Published2012.05.30 10:56TI Korea (CEO Kent Jeon, www.ti.com/ww/kr) May 30, 2012 – TI has launched the Turbo CAN transceiver product family (product names: SN65HVD255 and SN65HVD256) designed to support data speeds exceeding 1Mbps. These products meet the increasingly demanding requirements for higher node counts and longer data transmission distances in today's industrial CAN networks. The SN65HVD255 and SN65HVD256 devices feature short propagation delay and fast loop time, enabling very high data speeds in CAN network systems and achieving superior timing margins. These devices continue TI's CAN technology innovations and deliver next-generation transceiver designs following the SN65HVD251 and SN65HVD1050.
The SN65HVD255 and SN65HVD256 provide enhanced protection features compared to competing products, including transmission-data-driven timeout functionality, low-voltage lockout, and robust ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection at 12kV HBM (human body model), thereby achieving highly reliable system performance. These functional enhancements optimize performance in industrial applications such as factory and building automation, process control equipment, and motor control. SN65HVD255 and SN65HVD256 are currently supplied in 8-pin SOIC packages. Unit pricing at 1,000-unit quantities is $0.50 per unit. The SN65HVD255DEVM is supplied at $49 per unit.

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
ST Microelectronics has unveiled the 'STSPIN9P' series of 75V motor drive ICs tailored for 48V-class industrial drive system design. The new product family is characterized by half-bridge and full-bridge configurations that enable design scalability according to motor type and output conditions.
